And we get Wilson for next year, with Davis and Uehara free agents. Good point. I hope we make a run at Davis but it's good to have his replacement if we don't.

I like it. We get a good reliever and backup C and it keeps Wilson from going to another contender..

It looks like Martinez is much better vs right handers. Hopefully Wilson stays hot and our lefties do lots of damage.

649 for me thats one is blacked out here.. and doesnt look like WGN on direct tv actually has it. Usually a local iowa channel picks it up. I cant seem to find it though

I don't know anything about him, but he's ranked 296 by BA. So he'll get drafted. Likely today. Thanks! I hadn't seen any hype about him draft wise, Tillo being the only guy from around here being talked about really.

Good, I was hoping if we went after a dbacks pitcher it would be one of the others, not Miller.

I moved this here. Davis and Miller would be an interesting and hopefully low-cost way to play the volume game with the pitching staff. Davis/Rondon/Strop/Edwards has a solid chance of giving you 3 good relievers, and Miller + Montgomery probably stands a decent chance of netting you a quality SP. On the other hand, the Dodgers rotation and Giants bullpen from last year seem poignant examples of what could go wrong. Thanks for moving this. I realized shortly after I posted. I'm kinda mixed if this is the direction we go in. I like them both but Miller has struggled and davis something just nags me about him

I am always skeptical of guys like Kopeck with the absurd/sexy velocity. They seem to flame out more often than not, even considering pitcher attrition rate. Sure the fastball is huge, but is his stuff/command/feel that great? He walked 40 batters and gave up 42 hits in ~73 innings, that's allowing over 10 baserunners per 9 innings if my math is correct, pitching in rookie and A ball. That is a lot. I didnt really look at the hit/walks per 9. I should have done that. Even before that I was thinking he may be a late game pen arm. Perhaps that would help him harness the control a little more not trying to throw undeveloped pitches. This is also why I don't run any major league organizations.

I don't have any brilliant trade scenarios as I don't immerse myself well enough in value and minors to the point I could make plausible trade scenarios, but would Boston have interest in Soler + for Kopech? I've liked him although he may be a hot head it seems.
