  1. Worth a shot at least. I didn't want to extend the game for no reason. Btw, the chess app has a chat feature. I seriously doubt anyone cares about the events of our games... I saw you were messaging me, but when I tried to read what you said, it took me to an ad for a profit University, and I still can't find the chats. (This app is trash) Apart from your third move, you definitely punched above your weight class that game. I'm not bad at this chess thingy. Well, I'm a little rusty... Made a bad move early on, but recovered. GG Take it to PMs from here though. Again, no one cares about Chess here lol.
  2. It's a close game lol. Draw offer and resignation 5 moves later? :nono: Worth a shot at least. I didn't want to extend the game for no reason. Btw, the chess app has a chat feature. I seriously doubt anyone cares about the events of our games...
  3. You are so weird!!! Cut him some slack. He's down a pawn in the end game. It's a close game lol.
  4. Seriously, just go away and leave me alone you horsefeathering weird choking psychopath.
  5. Eh, I'm not going to debate whether chess is or isn't a sport... It's a challenging game/hobby/profession and easy to learn, but incredibly hard to master. It also requires a crazy amount of stamina and mental endurance at the top levels of play.
  6. https://mobile.twitter.com/keithlaw/status/1243340232117846017 Man, if the season somehow got cancelled that would make the Mookie Betts trade look especially bad (for LAD). I believe most people inside MLB and among the players thinks there will be a season, albeit shortened and delayed. I seriously doubt MLB would agree to this if there was a strong chance of the season getting fully canceled.
  7. Yeah, I enjoy playing Chess online with friends, but you could never play these kinds of tournaments online. Never happening. Everyone knows baseball is considered old-school in its norms and traditions, but the Chess community is even more old-school by comparison.
  8. Yeah, I'm watching it and the quick hook on Hendricks still pisses me off. The bad call from the ump on a clear strike 3 before Maddon pulls Hendricks also pisses me off... We came so close to blowing this lead lol. I used to defend him, but I'm so glad Maddon is gone now.
  9. [tweet] [/tweet] I don't like the idea of scheduled doubleheaders every week and trying to cram as many games as possible in as short a time frame as possible. That's going to lead to injuries and lesser performance and more variance. I think extending the season into October and then playing playoff games starting in November in neutral sites with indoor parks is the way to go. It would shorten the next offseason and FA period, but that seems like the best way to makeup lost games and revenue for MLB.
  10. [tweet] [/tweet][tweet] [/tweet]lol
  11. [tweet] [/tweet]The slate of games is kinda weird... One of the most important games in Cubs' history is the obvious choice for our team. The 2018 5-for-5 game for Mike Trout is the best they could come up with for the Angels lol?
  12. [tweet] [/tweet]Kiley has the Cubs' farm system ranked 24th. I think the system will move up in the rankings next year even with Nico Hoerner and Adbert Alzolay graduating off the list. This is assuming the draft and IFA signing period continue like normal this year (which would be incredibly stupid if MLB decided to cancel). I'm hopeful those proceed like normal and that should allow the Cubs to add a good influx of talent to the system. ---- I'm optimistic, but I'm also trying to be objective. Too many posters say stupid stuff here like "We're going to have a top ten farm system 12 months from now" (that didn't happen) or that we have the best/one of the best international scouting departments in the game (we don't). Again, try to educate yourself and/or speak to people inside the game before making dumb statements like that... The good news is people inside the game think our system is trending up now again and could look a whole lot better next year.
  13. [tweet] [/tweet][tweet] [/tweet]Baez is amazing indeed.
  14. [tweet] [/tweet]Kiley McDaniel's Top 10 Prospects list for the Cubs: 1. Nico Hoerner, 2B, 50 FV (No. 48 in top 100) 2. Miguel Amaya, C, 50 FV (No. 65) 3. Brennen Davis, CF, 50 FV (No. 73) 4. Brailyn Marquez, LHP, 45+ FV 5. Cole Roederer, CF, 45 FV 6. Adbert Alzolay, RHP, 45 FV 7. Cory Abbott, RHP, 45 FV 8. Ronnier Quintero, C, 40+ FV 9. Kevin Made, SS, 40+ FV 10. Justin Steele, LHP, 40+ FV
  15. [tweet] [/tweet]I know this draft sucks, but I absolutely hate that pick for the Bulls in this mock draft.

  17. [tweet] [/tweet] Looking forward to reading this column lol.
  18. A little while back I was talking about pitcher mechanics and how some pitchers gain control by altering their arm slot/release point. I mentioned how throwing from a higher release point/arm slot is better for throwing breaking pitches. I was bored and watching some clips and came across this clip courtesy @PitchingNinja. This is what 100% spin efficiency looks like for a curveball: [tweet] [/tweet][tweet] [/tweet]Not a ton of spin or velocity for this curveball, but it's still pretty cool.
  19. By MLB.com, I think you're referring to MLB Pipeline, which is run by Jim Callis, Jonathan Mayo and Mike Rosenbaum. Those 3 are the ones in charge and come up with the lists. Is there another top prospect list put out by MLB.com? Well, MLB.com is very large and employs many writers, like Jesse Sanchez for example. He primarily covers international baseball and he might create a list for top international players or prospects? Not sure honestly, but he is not a part of MLB Pipeline.
