  1. Probably headed toward that. Likely will be a hybrid as we transition. Yep. A hybrid most likely. I imagine we'll play a 4-3 whenever Allen is on the field and a 3-4 when he's taking a break.
  2. Right now he's in non-guaranteed contract territory, most likely third round. A full year of punking the god-awful Big Ten and another run at the NC puts him in the guaranteed $20mil top 10 pick territory IF all of that happens AND IF he beats out JT AND IF he doesn't get injured at any point
  3. He's a mobile Joe Montana.
  4. This has to put them as favorites in the West next year, right? Bama and Ark right there also? TSN has their way too early preseason rankings out for next year. They put the Hogs at 4th. In the country. Maybe a bit early for all that. Seriously? LOL
  5. I'm shocked. I wonder if he got a worse grade than we thought he would get.
  6. Clearly the Bears problem is they just can't win any game. FTFY
  7. Umm... Dez's arm is off to the side. It's not underneath the ball. That would be the only way where the ball didn't hit the ground unless you got some ginormous forearms.
  8. Was it Bowles that didn't interview well with the Bears in his first interview? I was thinking there was a tweet or something about it.
  9. Oh no, it was the right call according to the [expletive] rules. I see three steps and an attempted stretch across the goal line; no idea how that's not "a football move" or whatever the horsecrap requirement is. He also switched hands on the ball on the way down which to me shows possession/complete control.
  10. Would that catch be a TD if he broke the plane when he reached? Just curious. It's a stupid rule when it happened to Megatron and it's still a stupid rule now.
  11. And I'm done with this discussion as you're the only one who can't understand the difference now.
  12. Pretty sure Emery had to get the permission/ok from Ted on some of things that he did. I want to say a reporter/someone or an article said that. It sounds like now Pace doesn't even have to talk to Ted about the things he wants to do.
  13. yikes It's the outside part. Something to do with the microphone so it's an easy fix I guess, but I had to send it in today and it takes 2 days so I won't hear anything the next couple days.
  14. Live stream right on ChicagoBears.com Thanks...I thought CSN would stream it, but apparently not. Ugh... I wish it was on something that I can watch it with closed captions. My implants quit on me and had to send it in to get it fixed.
  15. Not for nothing but didn't Phil Emery have complete control? Yep. He just wasn't very good at it. I thought that Ted Phillips was the head of Football (and Business) Operations during the Emery regime. I read the tweet to mean that Pace reports directly to George and Phillips is being Crane Kenney'd That's how I read it as well. He did cap "complete" as if Pace is the man on the football side and not Phillips.
  16. Is that supposed to be meaningful? Exactly. Was he the main scout of the Midwest region or something so he saw Brees when he was at Purdue? Just a weird tweet cuz Saints didn't draft Brees.
  17. He got two 3s when he was traded in his mid-to-late 20s, now he's in his early 30s, with a bigger contract. Maybe a 3rd. His extension was pretty close to his old contract. He got a very slight pay raise. 9.3 mil in 2012/2013, 9.375 this year, and then 9.575, 9.975, and 10.375 for the next 3 years. Teams that trade for him has only 2015 as guaranteed (Marshall’s 2015 base salary becomes fully guaranteed if on the roster on the 3rd day of the 2015 League Year*) so he can be cut at any time after next year. Bears would be stuck with 5.6 mil dead money this year due to his signing bonus, but would gain 3.95 mil cap space. I think you could MAYBE get a late 2nd, but should realistically get a 3rd. *overthecap.com
  18. All I remember is that they found something when he had his appendectomy like 6 years ago while he was covering at a NFL game? I don't think they ever said it was "x" cancer.
  19. Arkansas is going to be fun to watch next year.
  20. As a Cowboys fan, I say thanks. I have appreciated Marinelli on the Cowboys. Wow... first time I've heard of this. I was indifferent on whether he stayed or go, but this story makes me happy that he won't get to make a decision for the Bears again. You literally had a well regarded DC in your back pocket and willing to stay and he tell you who he likes in order and you go with the worst one? WTF?? It doesn't seem plausible. We would've at least heard rumors of this months ago, and especially after the NO game, when seemingly everybody started talking to the press. When it happened, nobody really knew why Rod just left and took a demotion with another team. Someone who had a DC position locked up don't just all of a sudden leave to take a demotion somewhere else unless something crazy happened. It's just unusual so something made him leave and take that job. Rod isn't going to tell the press/media why he left because he's a pro and Emery isn't going say it. I really can't remember how it went down (like if there were rumors of Rod being angry at Trestman hire/etc). That story would be a good reason for Rod to leave and take a demotion.

  22. So how did Texas win 6 games this year?
  23. Man I hate Tom Brady. Pats just saved 24 mil after changing his guaranteed money into only for injury. Peyton/Brees/Romo/any other 30+ QBs with a SB should all take notice.
