  1. This being a walk-off scenario, Soriano might bother to show up.
  2. OK, I'm convinced that Suppan didn't hit Lee intentionally. He just sucks.
  3. Pitch 2 is a ball and pitch 4 is a strike? Really?
  4. It's not like Z hit Prince intentionally. Z was wild and Prince is the size of a Datsun. Oh well. Lets bring him around.
  5. Ok. I looked away for about 2 minutes, and I'm greeted by this? Christ.
  6. Any chance that on a 2-0 count Fox missed the hit-and-run sign?
  7. Keeping up on gameday... a lot of these "balls" seem like strikes. True?
  8. Wells in a bit of a groove... 8 ground-ball outs...
  9. Hoff would be a fine replacement for a corner OFer, but Soriano plays Leadoff. Hoff has never played Leadoff in the majors. In other words, I have no idea.
  10. We need to have Fox protecting Fox. That lineup would score runs.
  11. I'm almost cheering for line-outs. "Hey, solid contact. Cheers!" This team is not fun to watch.
  12. Santo weighs in on sliding into 1st: "Tejada slid head-first into 1st base, which is ridiculous". Awesome.
  13. Players didn't make that much money and fans didn't pay much to see the games either. The stakes have been raised on all sides. True... not trying to sound like a weepy old-timer, the thought just occured to me.
  14. In the midst of this conversation, I can't help recalling Brickhouse's call of Bank's 500th home run. I don't remember the exact wording of Jack's call, but believe he says, "the ball is thrown in to the bullpen". This occurs seconds after the ball was hit out to left center. At that point in the history of the game, I believe Ernie was one of only 9 players to have accomplished 500 HRs, and yet the ball was surrendered to him without a second thought. It would appear that times have changed a great deal...
  15. "You don't expect your closer to get hit that hard." Really Lou? At what point do you start expecting it?
  16. Lou on Gregg: "He'll be available tomorrow if we get in a close game." Ugh.
  17. As much as I dislike Lou's mood swings, I don't know anything he could say Re: Gregg that would seem reactionary at this point. Gregg has done little else but suck. Hard.
  18. Well done, Sean. It pleases me that if we pull this one out, neither Gregg nor Heilman will be credited with a win.
  19. Hey, didn't get a chance to see Wells work today (or last week) can anyone tell me a bit about his outing today? His line suggests control problems, however no runs/XB hits are positives. How does his stuff look? Thanks and sorry for being too lazy to read this whole thread if the requested info lies therein.
