    That's completely made up, right? Unfortunately, only a slight exaggeration, as NPC pointed out. They wound up 6.5 games out despite going 15-5. But they did win the WC.

    OK so the first reason why the Cardinals could win the World Series this year is because they have scored more runs in the 9th inning than every other team except 1. The number one team is the LA Angels, so I guess that means the Angels will walk off against STL in game 7.

    I'm baffled by the final ruling. I thought it looked pretty clear that Dexter hadn't crossed the plate before Rizzo got tagged. Len explained during the broadcast that Hurdle didn't challenge the timing of the tag, but whether Rizzo was tagged out or forced out. Hurdle was hoping it would be ruled a force so that the run would clearly be invalidated. I guess the "timing of the tag" question was outside the purview of the ruling? It was pretty weird.

    F. Any idea if it was while he was catching, hitting or running the bases? Top of the 8th, so he was catching. Pevey said it was a cramp/discomfort in the instep of one of his feet. Sounds like he's day-to-day right now. Knock on wood.
