    I used it for the big gulp trick but the Cubs shut that down several years ago so I am fine with it being gone. At least Taco Bell is still around for the degenerates. My brother (8 at the time) found $20 behind a bag of cheetos at that 7-11.

    I don't really like gold on T-Shirts. That said, I would be cool with it if this were the Cubs 50th World Series championship. Given it is only their third, I think it would be more appropriate to employ leather.

    Although it will be pointless in terms of shaving time off of games, it will be fun to watch casual fans flip out the first couple times the rule is implemented and some batter just walks from the dugout straight to first like it's no big deal. "Why's he on first base, now? They're just lettin' 'em take first?! And [expletive] Matheny ain't even gonna argue that [expletive]?!"

    I think a lot of that appearance has to do with his tendency to maintain his top-hand grip throughout his follow through. It does end up looking really weird/uncomfortable, though.

    Has there been any elaboration as to how this rule would operate with respect to bench management? Would the first man up in the inning automatically take second? Would each manager be able to designate a runner for the duration of extra innings? Would managers have to burn a new pinch runner each inning? Of course, tacit in all of these questions is the understanding that this proposed rule is very stupid, as well as dumb.
