  1. IIRC, rasmus is/was a piece of [expletive] in the clubhouse and demanded a trade that year. I think that's his point? That or he's still upset that the cardinals had to suffer the indignity of winning the WS as a wild card.
  2. As depth I guess Niese would be fine. I would hope they don't intent to give away anything of value for him, though.
  3. Strop was up. Have to think he's pitching the 8th.
  4. They're both things that are instantly ruined by Eli Manning's weird face?
  5. I've never understood why tie games are so reviled. America's collective loathing of ties has brought us two of the shittiest "innovations" in recent sports history: The MLB AS game that "matters", and the NHL regular season shootout. Ties are fine. Bring back ties.
  6. I'll be that jerk:
  7. 2012? Link
  8. People of all ethnicities are welcome at Wrigley, David.

  10. Best day ever?
  11. Sometimes leaders must make difficult decisions in the interest of the greater good. This is not one of those times. Just kill tapatalk, Tim.
  12. Hoping he Kanes it and returns 2 weeks from now.
  13. I propose the establishment of a "sontensei discussions" sub-forum, wherein all threads are authored by sontensei, covering range of topics of his choosing.
  14. Removing context is fun:
  15. Not the first time I've tried to jump on the bandwagon in the playoffs (in like a "maybe if I get sucked in at its best, I can actually learn to like this" type of way). Last year I watched most of the Kings series. Then they lost game 7 and I forgot about hockey again. It's not the Hawks awesomeness I have to learn to like. It's hockey. I find it hard to watch because of the frenetic pace coupled with the low scoring. I can handle low scoring low pace games and high scoring high pace (ala basketball). With hockey I have no idea when something good is going to happen (a goal) until it happens, which means you have to have your focus on the game at all times if you want to see the scoring. That's how it is for me, at least. Ha! I understand where you're coming from; Ic an't get into basketball for similar reasons. The game can turn at any moment in hockey. It's [expletive] beautiful.
  16. Ryan Getzlaf: Great Choker, or Greatest Choker? Also, eliminating Kesler never gets old. On a less petty note, I believe the Hawks have finally captured David with their awesomeness.
  17. I'm pissed I never got to experience polio. Ha. Fair enough. It's not as though I'm upset about it, though. It's just... weird.

I never liked tapatalk. I found the old mobile interface usable. The new, post-upgrade mobile interface is excellent.
  19. At the first game I attended this year, I found myself surprised at how unobtrusive the new boards are, considering they comprise over 6,000 square feet of video screen. The audio is fairly low and the presentation of content is rather subdued by jumbotron standards. I'm not a big jumbotron fan in general (I was a proponent of their addition from a revenue generating standpoint), but I found that I was won over pretty quickly. That said, it is weird to me that this is the only Wrigley my kids will ever know. Time marches on. The accompanying renovations to the park were badly needed. I look forward to seeing it completed in the coming years.
  20. Boudreau's game 7 record is 1-5 in his coaching career, 0-2 as coach of the ducks (6 total, all on home ice). Here's hoping the Hawks can jump out quick and destroy them like the kings did last year.

70.8% for May last year it was 62.9% in Iowa As an aside, where do you find monthly splits for ML contact rates? minorleaguecentral.com I've posted this elsewhere, but it's worth repeating here. Baez July 2014: .300/.344/.655/.999, 24% K%, 7% BB%, 69% contact Baez May 2015: .321/.402/.536/.938, 23% K%, 9% BB%, 71% contact Thanks; I somehow overlooked the option to select splits for a specific year.

Can't find the May split, but his overall contact rate is 68.7% (24 games, 103 PA). That includes only 14 more PA than the above-referenced sample.
  24. Oh my god, you're serious?
  25. I hate to be that guy, but can we put off discussing the offseason implications for the Hawks for at least a few more days?
