  1. I remember when losses like this used to bother me.
  2. 1 pitch 1-3 groundout. Crap PA for Theriot.
  3. I'll answer that when I know if Hendry is still imployed. Imployed? That's a new one lol. I assumed it was a witty portmanteau of "employed" and "implode".
  4. When was Well's last scoreless first inning?
  5. Cashner is presently in the 4 spot. Can't be worse than Aramis.
  6. Let's get Cashner his first ML victory.
  7. I'll give John Grabow this, his performances are consistent regardless of situation.
  8. Not that it decides the outcome of the game, but strike 3 was rather outside.
  9. It's probably not fair to leave out that better players are ahead of him on the depth chart. He's been trade bait since before the season started. They just haven't found a team willing to cough up what they want in order to deal him. That actually worked out in their favor when David Ortiz started out so badly, as Boston platooned Lowell with Ortiz. Realistically, Lowell can only play 3b, 1b and DH. They have Youkilis and Beltre that can play 3b, and Victor Martinez and Youkilis that can play 1b. Very true. My point remains, however, that no prosepect of consequence will be offered in exchange for Mike Lowell.
  10. I know that there is concern in some quarters that Hendry may make a desperate play to keep his job by dealing our top prospects for a stopgap solution (3B, bullpen), and he may, but the idea of acquiring Mike Lowell in exchange for anything of value (JJax?!) is insane. Lowell is making $12 million this season. He's hitting .238/.333/.365/.698 in limited duty due to age, injury and ineffectiveness. If the Sox trade him anywhere, it will be a salary dump move for organizational filler. He has near zero value. I doubt we need to get worked up about this.
  11. That was likely me; I was in section 50 that night. I was in 218 on Saturday and then in 23 on Sunday. You have a backpack with a straw?
  12. Lineups like this make it very easy to forget that Lou spent 16(!) seasons managing in the AL.
  13. The power will come. Meanwhile, that throw from the hole last night was breathtaking. Both feet on the grass in short left. Best case scenario is 1st and 3rd with two out if Theriot is playing.
  14. This has been a pretty brutal couple of days for the Cubs, schedule-wise. They get into Philadelphia early in the am, play a night game and follow up with a day game the next day. That said, I think we win this one. I've taken a shine to these Idiots.
  15. LET'S GO HAWKS! LET'S GO HAWKS! Buff has been amazing.
