The cynic in me is wondering if Poles, Eberflus and Getsy have figured out that the only way they’re saving their jobs is if Bagent is the next Kurt Warner. -
Especially when Pat Hughes is the other guy in the booth. Maybe shut up and let the literal Hall of Fame announcer get a few words in.

Wow. Go into court for a hearing and walk out to some good news! The pen is lined up perfectly for game 2. Just need 3, 2 and 2 innings from some combination of Greene, Smyly and Wesneski and then close out with Leiter and Alzolay. Then head into Saturday in relatively good shape for the rest of the series.

With the bottom of the order coming up that makes sense. Then if the Cubs tack on more next inning maybe you can even save Alzolay.

After missing more than a month of the season.

Take the lead here. Try to get one inning from Palencia before going Merryweather - Leiter - Alzolay. Keep Greene, Wes, Smyly and Keegan all possible multi-innings tonight.

Wasn’t always pretty, but can’t really ask for better than 1 run in 5 innings from Wicks.
