  1. Under normal circumstances I'd be rooting for the Cards, but I'm not so sure. I think that if the Brewers slide goes on much longer there's a good chance that Yost gets the axe, and I think it is very much in the Cubs best interest to keep Yost in this division.
  2. Okay I only ask for fantasy help when I'm really torn. In one of my money leagues I can have Shaun Marcum straight up for Edinson Volquez. Volquez has been filthy, but walks are a category in this league (which is stupid since walks are already taken into account in WHIP) and I know Edinson is going to hurt me every week in that. I also know that his walks are eventually going to catch up with him and he'll pay the price, so I'm aware that he's pitching over his head and it's a good idea to sell high. However, Marcum is pitching over his head right now, I'm just not sure how much he's pitching over his head. All I have to go on is numbers right now so I'm hoping somebody might know more than I do about these guys.
  3. I just re-watched the Lilly RBI single and that was one of the most ridiculous looking swings I've ever seen. His arms are fully extended the whole time.
  4. They were hovering around 5-10 games under .500 all season and then made a little run to get to .500 while the Brewers and Cubs were losing practically every day.
  5. I am going to be crazy to say this, but I still think of the Brewers as bigger threats than St. Louis. My best outcome would be the Cardinals to take 2 of 3. I didn't say cheering. This is the Cardinals, though, the same team we keep waiting to fall off and never does. They did last year. Yeah in late September. Early-mid September actually. On September 6th they were one game out but then lost 9 in a row to fall 7 games back.
  6. Blushing? I looked at that for like 10 seconds before I posted it because I knew it didn't sound right..
  7. It looks like somebody just gave him a compliment and he's flushing.

  10. I think I'd still rather have St. Lous win this series.
  11. Well, that's to be expected with power hitters like Reed Johnson.
  12. Wait, Edmonds was released? How could I have not heard such news?
  13. Indeed. Don't wanna piss the ump off before the 9th either.
  14. Has anyone else realized how often this team scores exactly 3 runs? This is just getting weird.
  15. Off the bat I thought it was a routine flay ball to deep center but then I saw his little hop.
  16. Theriot, you haven't earned the right to stand in the box after a called 3rd strike that is not to your liking. That's been a strike all day anyways.
  17. Young, Jackson, Upton due up in the 9th for Wood. Scary.
  18. Could Soto throw out Chuck Norris? Chuck Norris wouldn't run on him.
  19. Ump: "Soto didn't throw him out? That's gotta be interference. There is no other reasonable explanation."
  20. I thought that was the game where he needed a double for the cycle and had a well-hit ball to RF, but it bounced like 6 inches foul? It was. He ended up homering later in the AB.
  21. And one or 2 pitches before that he hit a liner down the line that landed inches foul. I'm pretty sure that was the Clemens vs Prior game and part of the 4 game sweep at Houston. I remember things looked really good at that point.
