  1. Sorry, can't do it. Can't put it on Gagne this time. If Weeks makes a play that T-Ball kids make then it's game over and it doesn't go 12 innings. Gagne let Cesar Izturis and Skip Schumaker on base. He wasn't without blame. No way you can put this on Gagne. Izturis should not of been on, the ump blew a strike 3 call after he froze Izturis. Shumaker was a hard hit ball, he is hitting .324 this year, but yeah that was hit bad. And then he got the best hitter in baseball to ground into a double play and Rickie Weeks decides to throw like a little girl to first. BS. When you hit a sub .200 hitter to start the inning and then allow a hard hit single to put runners at the corners with no outs in a 1 run game, it's your fault. I don't care what happens after that. Pujols' hard hit ground ball could have easily gotten past Hall anyways. He was lucky that the hard hit ball was hit drectly at Hall in the first place. The key of that inning was Izturis. I didn't see this alleged blown call by the ump, but it shouldn't have come to that anyways. How are you going to go to a full count on Cesar [expletive] Izturis leading off the 9th in a one run game?
  2. I like how the steal was of 3rd base with 2 outs. That's smart baseball right there.
  3. Why can't our players ever keep their mouths shut about the World Series?
  4. Leads off the game with a single and promptly gets doubled off first (and it wasn't close) on a routine shallow fly ball to center field. Even Brennaman was trashing him. If you go check out gameday it already has the highlight.
  5. Now I'd love to see Joba enter the rotation and get lit up.
  6. So I turned on the Brewers game in the 8th inning (I think) tonight, and Gagne was warming in the pen. Was Yost seriously going to bring him in for the 5th straight day?
  7. Good lord, is this like a 6 team league or something?
  8. I vaguely remember that. Did they end up losing the game? Do you know the date of the game or at least who they were playing? I've gotta check it out on mlb.tv because it sounds epic.
  9. 14 pitchers is ridiculous. The Brewers bench right now is Craig Counsell, Gabe Gross, and Mike Rivera. Wow. I'd pay good money to see a Brewers game go about 15 innings in the next few days.
  10. Just wondering. I don't think I can waste a roster spot on this guy much longer, considering I don't even start him anymore.
  11. You think Longoria will only be an .880 OPS guy in his prime?
  12. I'd absolutely pick up Rasmus.
  13. I think the "strained tricep" report was erroneous, at least for now. The Brewers are saying that it's just tightness. I guess he felt it last start too and it creeped back up tonight when they had a 5 run lead so they didn't want to take any chances.
  14. You're missing the point. Taking Podsednik doesn't mean you get a World Series ring. He just happened to be on a World Series winning team. You're falling for the misconception that Podsednik is the reason they won a title when he really was not. That team would have won even more games with Lee instead of Pods. Hey, I'll take David Eckstein and the WS ring over Hanley Ramirez.
  15. That was great. Thanks. Anyone remember when they took Wood out of that game, and Guthrie - I'm convinced he and Veres could have combined to make one memorably mediocre ambidextrous relief pitcher - got Giambi to K? They showed Wood leaning over the dugout rail, and he spiked his water bottle when Guthrie rung up Giambia and just screamed in excitement. That. Was. Awesome. I miss Kerry Wood as a starter. Yeah, it was Remlinger though. Both the K and Wood's reaction are in this video. http://blip.tv/file/643664#share I don't remember Wood ever showing that much emotion. Look who he high fives first...... Mark Prior. That depresses me.
  16. Berkman/Dunn for Helton/Bannister is bush league as hell but so is Weeks/Wilson for Utley, and I actually like Weeks.
  17. I hope your not trying to be serious Says the guy who thinks Carlos Lee for Scott [expletive] Podsednik was a good trade. The White Sox would have been a better team with Carlos Lee than with Scott Podsednik, period. I don't care where each of them hit in the lineup, Carlos Lee is more productive than Scott Podsednik. Stop with this "leadoff hitter" nonsense.
  18. Bud Selig just doesn't get it.
  19. Bud Selig just doesn't get it.
  20. Done a decent job of it so far, He's walked 5 in 10.1 innings.
  21. Volquez will never be great unless he gets his walks under control.
  22. Well I want to win, so player 2.
  23. See, that's 34th in all of baseball. He said 34th in the league, which I thought sounded bogus. He's 17th in the league.
  24. Is VORP a good stat to use for pitchers? Because last year he was 34th in the league. 34th among starters? That makes no sense. So he's a number 2? He said 34th in the league, not in baseball. If that's 34th among starting pitchers, then I don't get it. How could there have possibly been 33 starters in the NL ahead of him last season?
