  1. I like the Cubs one but some of the other ones are terrible.
  2. I don't know, he looks much less intimidating with the knee socks. His legs look skinny as hell
  3. I can't wait to hear Steve call a slider 42 times during each broadcast.
  4. More about it here- http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/gameday_recap.jsp?ymd=20080703&content_id=3058155&vkey=recap&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc So dumb.
  5. Solomon Torres closing games isn't going to get you in the playoffs. Why? He's having a great season and the closer role is such a joke. How can you say it's a joke? Most teams in the postseason have brilliant closers. For instance, the playoffs last year. Yankees have Rivera. Red Sox have Papelbon. Rockies had Corpas. Arizona had Valverde. Angels had K-Rod. You could always say the Indians had Borowski, and the Cubs had Dempster, but go ahead and tell me how the closer position is a joke. First of all, I'm not sure why you're calling Corpas a "brilliant closer". Second, I'm not sure why you're just shrugging off Dempster and Borowski when they are perfect example of why your statement was false. Torres is having a much better season than either of those guys had last season, yet suddenly th Brewers have no chance of making the playoffs because Torres is closing. Anyways, I don't know why you're talking as though Torres is terrible. He's having a good season.
  6. "The future" and "ending the drought" go hand in hand.

  8. He threw a pretty good slider that just missed for ball 1, threw a bad slider was outside for ball 2, then had to come in with a fastball and got it up. I don't think anything is physically wrong with him. Guys are just laying off the slider and sitting on his fastball.
  9. Cards fans booing Boggs (8 ER) off the mound. They were smart enough to realize he wasn't doing good. Best fans in baseball.
  10. It's not the players' fault that their GM can't assemble a good team. Who blamed the players? They wasted big bucks on Zito. end of story. My fault, I misread it. I thought you were making fun of the Giants players for celebrating. Still though, it's not the fans fault that Sabean is an idiot.
  11. Umm, why? Despite what people want to believe, the Giants aren't THAT bad. Considering we were without Ramirez, Soriano, and Zambrano I don't think it's at all terrible that we split the series, only losing to Cain and Lincecum. It would have been nice to take 3 of 4, but a split isn't the worst thing in the world, especially when the Brewers split with the D-backs and the Cards might split with the Mets minus Santana. I don't know why, but I've got a feeling this is going to be a fun weekend at St. Louis.

  13. Didn't he say he was going to ease Marmol slowly back into high leverage situations spots? So he puts him in in a 1 run game with guys at first and third with no outs, after getting bombed the night before. He asically was saying "we need a strike out right now. nothing else will do. No pressue though!" And then he pulls him after 1 batter, leaving him confidence at an all-time low. Well played.
  14. Okay I'm not worried as much about this game as I am Marmol not getting destroyed again
