  1. Was that really necessary? You get mad for no reason. But really, you think Peavy was signing autographs "Go Cubs"? Okay.
  2. Has this been confirmed or is it just rumor? Confirmed. http://blogs.suntimes.com/fullcourtpress/2008/12/jake_peavy_wants_to_be_a_cub.html Did you read the original post? That guy said that Peavy was signing autographs "go cubs go", not singing "go cubs go." Huge difference. The rumor is that he was singing the song, no signing autgraphs, and I give it about a 50/50 shot at being true... if that. That article doesn't really confirm anything. To make this silly argument more silly, that guy said signing autographs "Go Cubs" not "Go Cubs Go". "According to a report from Yahoo Sports, "the Cubs remain optimistic they can acquire Peavy." He wants to pitch for the Cubs but "that deal became too complicated, involving three or four teams and numerous players." XM Radio also reported on Thursday that Jake Peavy was signing autographs with 'Go Cubs' included while he was in Las Vegas earlier in the week." Seriously, that small detail needed to be debated? I thought you were just confusing the story. I didn't know anybody had reported that he was signing autographs like that. I'm pretty sure the person that reported that on XM misunderstood what he was told though
  3. The ratings probably won't be good, but I couldn't care less about that. As a fan I think these 2 matchups are really intriguing. The Eagles AT Arizona for a chance at the super bowl? The Ravenas and Steelers getting it on in the snow for a chance at the super bowl? I love those matchups. There are a lot of good storylines too.

  5. Fair enough. I'm just saying I don't think he's underrated. He gets a ton of praise.
  6. lowe hasn't been very good outside of dodger stadium over the least 3 seasons
  7. I know. I've just never understood the national hate for McNabb and Reid. They're both better than most of the people in their business, but even the national media/fans seems to think they suck. I hope Philly fans force McNabb out of there so that the Titans can go after him. He'd be an upgrade over basically any QB other than Peyton, Brady, Brees, Rivers, Eli and Roethlisberger. And he's pretty even with the latter four. I don't know. I know McNabb gets a lot of crap in Philly, but I don't see this national hate yu're talking about. I never see the media saying he sucks. Like I said, I see the opposite. I agree he gets treated poorly in Philly (who isn't?), but I constantly hear people talk about him as an elite quarterback. I can't remember anybody on TV ever talking him down or acting like he's not good. I'd take McNabb over Eli and probably Roethlesberger, but not Rivers or Brees. He's really only had one season at the level of those guys. I'd also put hm behind Romo and Warner (as of right now).
  8. like i said, i'm not even arguing right now about whether or not he's a good coach. we've already done that before. i just don't get why he thinks another conference championship appearance suddenly seals the deal or something like that.... or enough to where he thought it was a good idea to dig up a 2 month old quote and i don't really see how mcnabb is underrated. i've always thought of him as good, but a bit overrated. maybe not by philly, but by the country. everybody always talks highly of mcnabb. i think he's good, but not an elite qb. he had a great season in 2004, was having a great season in 06 before he got hurt, but every other year he's just been "good". he hasn't even had a qb rating above 90 in any other season
  9. we've already had this argument before. that wasn't my point. my point is that i don't understand why you decided to go find that quote and then put it in your sig... as if the fact that they got to the conference championship again means that the rest of the argument was meaningless and andy reid is automatically good. i'll just chalk this up to you defending one of your guys. kind of like when andy reid said after the game that mcnabb is the best quarterback in the nfl.
  10. 5 conference championship games in 10 years. can you dig up a list of nfl coaches who have accomplished that feat? i'm guessing that most of them would not be considered the worst coach in the league during their tenures. yeah and has lost 4 of them. reid isn't the worst coach in the nfl, but he's bad. stop acting like getting to the conference championship game proves otherwise.
  11. i don't really understand the point of your sig. are you saying that since the eagles are in the conf championship game that means he's a good coach? remember last year when norv turner took the chargers to the conference championship game? yea
  12. ohhhh that was a good shot at it. come on, it's so close. when was the last time a quarterback had 7 turnovers in a playoff game?
  13. come on give the ball back so jake can go for 6
  14. when they were in the box keith was yelling "tomorrow" at erat. looks like they'll get it on in chicago tomorrow
  15. oh my god how are you letting fitzgerald beat you? this reminds me of the year before the bears went to the super bowl where lovie refused to double team steve smith as he was picking the bears apart
  16. basically the weirdest nfl season ever so far
  17. hence might? It implies that there are reports that the owner wil push for Peavy, which isn't the case at all. This title is about the same saying "Hendry might get Peavy in 2 weeks". It's not false, but it's misleading to put it in the title since there's no actual report or evidence of it. There's no news. Seriously, read the article. It's all the guys speculation. He never says "I heard from somebody" or "sources tell me". It's just him talking about what he thinks could happen, and now it's suddenly the title of the thread. Really misleading.
  18. I think the new thread title is pretty misleading. All that was was speculation by that Rozner guy about what might happen. Any of us could do the same stuff. I don't think he said anywhere that he actually heard that the new owner will push for peavy. The article was basically worthless.
  19. Where is anybody treating Rocco as an "amazing stud"? They signed him for dirt cheap, meaning it's very low risk with a chance of a very high reward. There is really no downside to that move. If the new diagnosis is real and they can treat his problems, it could end up being an enormous steal.
  20. Plus cubsfan26 never said derosa wasn't going to be good. he said he's likely to drop off from 2008, which he is. his 2006 and 2007 numbers were solid but they are clearly a dropoff from 2008
  21. wait, you're really a cowboys fan?
  22. lol stoops is about to off himself
  23. oh god thom is about to explode after that penalty
  24. well at least i get to laugh at another stoops team choking
