  1. I'd try to package Wayne or Johnson with one of your RBs to get a stud RB. Forte/Smith/McFadden seems really suspect to me.
  2. Hill has done the job even worse, and he got rewarded for it.
  3. No, it validates why Lou is benching him. which is your argument. we're saying he shouldn't be benched, you're saying he should. benching him because hill has been better over the past month would be ridiculously stupid, for all the reason we've already discussed.
  4. lol batting average with risp btw, hill has a .591 ops since the break And not surprisingly, you answer a question with a question. I ask you who's been better over the last month and you respond with a question. Well done. apparently you missed the part where i told you it doesn't matter who has been better over the past month i'm still loling at ba w/ risp Oh, so Hill has been better, hence the benching? You don't say. hill has not been better. you're choosing the last month because it suits your argument. soto has been better for the season soto has been WAY better since mid may
  5. For the year he has a worse average than Hill with RISP. And since the ASB, my goodness are his numbers terrible. We're talking Aaron Miles terrible. lol batting average with risp btw, hill has a .591 ops since the break And not surprisingly, you answer a question with a question. 6. Exactly. However, god forbid a fan favorite get benched for crappy play. My goodness. it would be fine to bench him if a) the season still meant something b) there was a better option to take his place neither of those are true a is still true to many people as we are only 5.5 back in the WC but b still isn't true

  8. Seems like a smart move to keep sending him out there to go 0-4 with 2 k's and GIDP every game.. so you want to send out a guy who has been a little worse Who's been better over the last month? Just answer the question. why does it matter? the cubs aren't making the playoffs. it makes no difference who is the hottest right now. and even if it did, soto is still the better bet to be the better of the 2 for the remainder of the season. and like tt said, soto has been wayyy better since like mid may i still haven't seen a single legit reason to start hill.

  11. how many times do people need to explain to you that soto has been better? not to mention that he has shown in the past that he can be good. hill has shown for his career that he also will suck. anyways, it doesn't even matter. soto should be starting anyways so he can hopefully get it going a little in the final month so maybe he doesn't feel completely horrible about himself going into the postseason. there is no reason to start hill or soto. none. all you've been able to comeu p with is that soto needs a break. he'll get a break in a month when the season ends.
  12. you know they make rate stats, right? they really work and are far more useful than counting stats i feel like we've been over this yes, sitting on the pine will fix everything. that's what he needs. now that he's at an all time low on the season, let's bench him so he can't turn it around for the rest of the year. that way we can assure his confidence is at an all time low heading into the offseason. seems like a smart move
  13. what are you seeing in koyie hill's entire playing career that warrants him getting the bulk of the playing time? Nothing at all. There's no question Geo is a better long term answer. However, for this year, I think many of us have seen enough. only, soto has been better this year. That's not saying much when you're hitting .212. He needs a break. It's saying that he's better than the guy you want starting And he's about to get a 5 month break I don't see a single positive thing about Hill starting over Soto.
  14. You don't like the move? What are you seeing in Geo this year that warrants him getting the bulk of the playing time? what are you seeing in koyie hill's entire playing career that warrants him getting the bulk of the playing time? Nothing at all. There's no question Geo is a better long term answer. However, for this year, I think many of us have seen enough. so you've seen enough of soto but not enough of hill, even though hill has been worse?
  15. You don't like the move? What are you seeing in Geo this year that warrants him getting the bulk of the playing time? a) hes been better than hill b) he actually has a future and should benefit from getting ABs
  16. yeah i'm sure it was the weed that did it. and this is such a [expletive] move
  17. finished the night 3 for 5 his line on the season is now .271/.332/.442 (.774)
  18. oh look, another very good start for smoltz, this time against a good offense
  19. what would have to happen for him to not be type A status?
  20. batter A hits .300, but every hit is a single batter B hits .250, but every hit is a home run who is a better hitter? I am a supporter of OPS. I was merely pointing out that if you are talking strictly about hits and hits only BA is the stat would show who has hit and who hasn't. but we're not talking about hits and hits only. when i'm talking about overall hitting, i'm talking how productive he's been as a hitter. not how often he gets a single. like i said, a guy can hit .250 and be a very productive hitter
  21. don't forget about guzman staying healthy and good all season
  22. bonifacio would provide that speed we so desperately need for next season. get it done, jim.
  23. he's definitely a douchebag, but i really couldn't care less.
  24. personally i'm starting to get concerned
