    OMG! Are you proposing that a RH batter face RH pitching? Radical thinking like that will get you into trouble. :-)) reed johnson should never get a start against right-handed pitching. evar. And yet posters were willing to give up half the farm system for Granderson and insisted he isn't a platoon player. Actually Johnson had an on-again-off-again career against RHP. Bad in 2009 and 2007, but fair in 2008 ( .280/.323/.398/.721) and great in 2006 (.317/.370/.498/.869). not being able to hit lhp is way different than not being able to hit rhp like sulley said, reed johnson should never be starting against rhp.

    I wouldn't want to pay 12 million for a 4.67 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, 5.1 K/9, etc. Would you? I'm not necessarily saying he'll be that bad. I just don't see how his 2009 numbers are worth 12 million.

    Q coached playoff teams have pretty much the same track record as San Jose, so be careful what you say. pretty sure it's much more about the players than the coach. and the blackhawks did pretty damn well in the playoffs last season

    This morning on Mike and Mike, Olney was on and said that the Braves were trying hard for a while now to dump Derek Lowe's contract. Nobody would bite, though, so they shipped out Vazquez instead. i would have taken derek lowe for milton bradley in a heartbeat. Over Silva, yeah. But I don't like that contract at all. lowe is making 15 mil for the next 3 seasons. i'd much rather have silva.

    from what i've read, the carter/hartnell thing was BS that originated from a site known to spew garbage rumors.

    Theriot is not going to be the difference in this season. He could be. Like Rob said, the difference between him and his likely replacement would be about 1-2 wins over a full season. We could easily finish 1-2 games out of a playoff spot. Is it likely? Probably not, but it's very possible, and we need all the help we can get to make the playoffs in 2009.

    lol @ outshooting them 47-14 it really sucks that we lost, but it's really good to see them dominate the hell out of these assholes once again. as of right now i feel really really good aobut the hawks chances against the sharks if they meet in the playoffs (it might be asking too much of the sharks to not choke in the first 2 rounds though)

    Unless nobody else could afford to trade for an expensive pitcher in 2010. then they should have just kept him. did they HAVE to dump salary this offseason? either way, i find it hard to believe nobody else was willing to take on that 13 mil for vazquez.
