  1. Yeah, it usually isn't shown on TV. I remember the Wolves lost a playoff game on the delayed penalty back earlier this decade. They were on the good end of delayed penalty and as soon as the extra attacker went on the ice, they lost control of the puck and the puck found the back of their own net in OT. That was just about as strange of a finish as when Boyle put the puck in the back of his own net in OT. I knew about the extra attacker for quite some time, but that was only thanks to the video games. The announcers only mention it when they have the puck for a sustained amount of time, enabling the 6th attacker to get out there. Here's yours. pat foley :good:
  2. shaq is traveling every time he has the ball
  3. who was the poster that freaked out and started saying really weird things about somebody (illiniguy?) posting pictures of his son/daughter?
  4. but penalty shot success rates are still well under 50%, right? so by taking the penalty shot, you're making it so the odds are in favor of you getting NOTHING out of it. you take the pp, and you not only are the odds in favor of you getting something, it's a guarantee. worst case scenario, you get 2 minutes of the opposition being shorthanded. and when you consider the relatively small difference between PP% and PS%, the addition of 2 PP minutes makes it seem like a no brainer for me. again though, that's only when you're trying to hold a lead late.
  5. yeah they are, and in most cases i'd agree that the penalty shot is better. but when you have a 2 goal lead with 7 minutes left, i think the 2 minutes of the team trying to come back being shorthanded is more valuable. even if you don't score, you've wiped 2 crucial minutes off the clock.
  6. people hate jim hendry for his win-loss record? isn't his w-l record pretty decent since taking over? that's not why people dislike him. they dislike him because he makes way more crappy moves than good moves. it's as simple as that.
  7. here's the one i was talking about. it was shane o'brien and he also scored himself into the net
  8. Yeah, it usually isn't shown on TV. I remember the Wolves lost a playoff game on the delayed penalty back earlier this decade. They were on the good end of delayed penalty and as soon as the extra attacker went on the ice, they lost control of the puck and the puck found the back of their own net in OT. i was just going to ask if anyone can remember this ever happening or if the goal would even be allowed. pretty sure it's happened in the nhl in the last couple years. i remember them showing it on sportscenter. it's also come very close to happening twice in this postseason so far. i just don't remember the teams.
  9. haha, i remember rodman just [expletive] with frank brickowski in that series, it was vintage rodman. When he just turned and stared at him omstead of watching the free throws being shot it was amazing. Was living in Frank's head. Hahahahaha
  10. i'd definitely do it. loney is kind of worthless
  11. silva has a 1.90 WHIP over his last 3 starts
  12. man, it's gonna suck so bad when we end up with joe johnson
  13. i still think you should be able to choose the PP over a penalty shot if you want i'd have much rather had 2 minutes of PP in that situation
  14. shouldn't be a penalty shot
  15. this isn't a player, but i still love this one i like the third angle best
  16. lol @ the possibility of the flyers having home ice in the conference finals
  17. bounced off the refs skate right back into the front of the net. i don't remember ever seeing something like that
  18. yep, that was gonchar. he straight up quit
  19. sergei gonchar straight up gave that goal away with lack of effort. that was embarrassing.
  20. hollllyyyyy shittttttttt
  21. yeah, that's embarrassing
  22. i don't think we'll really need to fire lou. assuming the cubs don't make the playoffs this year, i think lou walks.... especially if hendry is fired. he seems like he's pretty much done with this
  23. You should be banned for saying anything positive about Hendry even though the "trade" of Bradley for Silva plus Byrd has to be the most one-sided trade in decades. through 5 weeks
  24. Scott GF was the fun kind of insane. On the other end of the crazy spectrum - little Mizzou cameo at the end of that thread. what happened to mizzou?
