  1. i don't think the injury exemption stuff was true. that all originated from some message boards posters. everybody has reported 55.2 million. im pretty sure thats our cap.
  2. so the knicks' big pitch to lebron was that he take a salary of 11.5 mil and then have him recruit 2 other superstars to take the same kind of money to play there. so awesome.
  3. Lou's not to blame for Lee and Ramirez hitting like crap all year, or Zambrano having another meltdown, but Jim Hendry is? For a guy that chastises others for looking for a scapegoat of some sort, you sure seem to be looking for a scapegoat of some sort. So you dont think the bloated contracts and no trade clauses ala Jim Hendry have more to do with the failure of this years Cubs than the fact Hill is getting a few extra starts a month ? Who is arguing otherwise? See, you're giving Lou a free pass because the roster sucks. "Oh well, Lee and Ramirez are awful, so who cares if Lou is making it worse."
  4. That can't be a good sign if you are associated with the Knicks. I understand James isn't going to tip his hand on what his decision is, but the fact that James seems to be pretty much a robot during the Knicks presentation, is not a good sign. "the dude just sat there. he didn't even say bye when he left."
  5. i knew bowman was posturing, but he still looks like a moron. "these guys will be chicago blackhawks next season" and then trades him the next day. i expect sharp or bolland to be next.
  6. It's bad for the Knicks. I'm glad we didn't overpay for him. I think it's good for the Knicks in that it saves them from themselves. Sounded like they were ready to give him the max. WHich is why I think it hurts us. Now the Knicks might be competing with us for a different player... one we actually want. I'm not worried about them at all in terms of anybody that we have a high interest in. But we really have no idea who the Bulls and Knicks are interested in, or what types of things LeBron's decision may hinge on. You never know how things are going to fall into place. LeBron may have a certain type of player he wants the Bulls to get if they're going to sign him, and maybe the Bulls whiff on it because the Knicks overpay for the last one available. I doubt it comes to this, but it's possible. It's just not good that there is one less player out there when so many teams are fighting for the remaining guys. It just would have been nice to see the Knicks give JJ the max and limit the rest of their options.

What Dexter doesn't seem to grasp ,well one of the things, is that his Dusty analogy also made my point. It's not my fault that you didn't understand what I was saying. Yes, team's can win in spite of bad managing, and teams can fail in spite of good managing. SO that means it doesn't matter if you have a crappy manager? No. If the Reds had a decent manager, they'd probably be doing even better this season. It seems like your whole point is "whatever, we're gonna suck anyways so there's no point of blaming Lou". I think Lou has become a very bad manager, period. It's as simple as that. Why give a bad manager a free pass just because the team sucks anyways? So he can hurt us when we actually do have a good team?

  9. I think it's the other way around. There's still TONS of cap space out there
  10. Anyways, that's bad for us. Not because we can't get him, but because now the Knicks can't overpay for him. The domino effect is that NY will now go after someone else (and prob overpay) meaning there's 1 less guy available for us LeBron or bust
  11. Can't wait to read some Hawks forums later. If they hated the guy before, I wonder how they feel about him now (not that it's his fault he's getting that much). "Oh heyyyy Atlanta. Remember all that bad stuff I said about you? Just kiddinnnnnn"
  12. And apprently those 2 guys are pretty reputable. considering the only ones reporting otherwise are some dudes on a message board, i think these are most likely correct.
  13. it's sounding like that stuff about only the 1.3 going against the cap is BS. sounds like it's still the 4.2 mil which means ladd and probably sharp or bolland. maybe start thinking about a 95-100 point season next year?
  14. Wings fans still seem to think we're gonna lose significant guys Hawks fans also believed Bowman when he said that no more trades were needed...guess we all live in our delusions:) who believed that? not knowledgable fans unlike Wings fans? Also Buff, Sopel, Versteeg and Madden are significant loses. Most of these knowledgeable Hawks fans seem to think they are not i'm not talking about those guys. i went to a red wings board and theyre convinced they're going to lose MORE significant guys. that's what im talking about. try to keep up.

  16. i dont think you give enough credit to ladd. i don't think versteeg really brings anything to the table. his dynamics usually lead to him turning the puck over. ladd is a really solid 2-way forward also, ladd is a [expletive] warrior, and hockey is a sport where stuff like that actually matters in the playoffs.
  17. ric bucher says lebron has told the teams interested that he wants to have a decision for july 5th.

  19. 2010? yea fail
  20. They all signed with Miami. Even Dirk NBA over til 2010
  21. It's going to be hilarious considering he basically trashed the city at the end of the season and the fans already hate him.
  22. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/67644/20100630/wade_giving_up_on_recruiting_lebron/#ixzz0sOUvn6WX I hate how the wiretap on realgm always puts stories into their own words. That's not what the tweet even said. Woj basically said that didn't he? I guess using the phrase "effectively ends" is presumptuous though. All Woj said is that he's putting his focus in other areas right now. Why does that mean he's ending his pursuit of LeBron? Don't most people assume LeBron won't sign right away? If LeBron is going to wait a bit, he doesn't need to focus on him right now. Anyways, I think this is all moot. People seem to be overestimating the power of Wade. He isn't going to make LeBron's decision for him. I'd think anything he could do to sway his decision has already been done. "Hey Bron-Bron... it's Dwyane again. Seriously, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease come here. Pllllllleeeease? C'mon dood"
