  1. richard jefferson just opted out of his 15 mil with the spurs lollllll lollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
  2. This offseason is shaping up to be disastrous for some teams. With the ridiculous offer from ATL to Johnson and the amount of teams with massive cap space, I think it's gotten pretty unlikely that any of the top 6-7 guys sign for anything less than the max. Very scared to see how this plays out for the Bulls. We could either strike out (again), or we could overpay for talent that isn't good enough to win a championship. Do we really want to give guys like Carlos Boozer and David Lee the max? The talk has been that those guys would come at a price below that, but I don't think so anymore.... especially if the Miami stuff ends up being true. I think we'd have to give those guys the max if we want them, and even that might not be good enough.
  3. but seriously, are you going to pretend that we don't have good reasons to want lou gone? it's really just because we are looking for a scapegoat? come on. there are 25 pages of examplex. look through this thread if you want to see the reasons we want lou gone. you really think he's doing an ok job? yes, the team sucks and they'd suck no matter who was managing them right now. that doesn't mean we can't admit that lou is making them worse. he's supposed to get a free pass because the team sucks anyways? lou is making it worse with his atrocious moves. nobody is claiming that lou is the reason we suck.
  4. except for getting rid of a terrible manager who constantly makes astonishingly bad baseball decisions. it does accomplish that
  5. why are you talking aobut [expletive] that happened several years ago to a completely different roster? this isn't your best thread Well we can talk about last year when the Heat were a better team. Because of a ridiculous stretch where the Bulls were missing Rose/Noah/Deng at the same time and tanked. Not to mention we had VDN Put Thibodeau on that team and take away the obscene injury stretch, and I'm pretty sure the Bulls make up those 6 games

  7. Maybe at winning regular season games. If there's one thing this current Bulls team has proven, it's that it's a postseason juggernaut. How many playoff games are the Mo Williams and Anderson Varejao led Cavaliers capable of winning? You realize that's the apples to apples comparison here. I don't know, not a lot. Just like the Bulls. It just seems odd to go with the "way to not win the title Cavs" argument, when you're dealing with a roster that has a combined 1 playoff series win 4 seasons ago. And without LeBron, the Cavs probably wouldn't even have any playoff appearances in the last 4 years
  8. How do you figure that Cleveland's bench makes as much sense as a team with Noah and Rose? Because Varejao is better than Noah. And because Williams+Jamison aren't really worse than Rose+Deng, and at the very least are better suited to LeBron's game. lol
  9. i don't think people really thought he would opt out
  10. Does Reinsdorf go to Akron with GarPax, Rose, Noah, and Thibodeau? http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/basketball/bulls/ct-spt-0630-bulls-chicago--20100629,0,6952391.story that article says they're trying to get pippen to go with them, which would be pretty huge imo, especially after the wade comments. it also says the hawks might offer joe johnson the 6/126 max, which would be absolutely hilarious. The Hawks are more screwed without him. Not one free agent has said anything about them wanting to go there. they're more screwed with him at that money.
  11. edit: i should should before i post. i thought those were just rnakings based on somebody's opinion.

  13. lol fail. but the more i think about it, the more i feel like it doesn't really make a difference. we all knew these guys were going to talk anyways.
  14. I don't really understand the fuss over the "summit". Whether or not these guys actually met face to face all at once, they've all been talking to each other. I don't really see the distinction.
  15. then why do the fans get to vote people in?
  16. apparently broussard was on sportscenter and said miami is now the front runner fopr lbj. this is concering, because he's been pimping chicago hardcore for a while now. i still don't see this happened for a few different reasons, but holy [expletive] would this be a disaster. miami- lebron, wade, bosh NY- johnson, amare then who do we get? carlos boozer? great.
  17. if it does happen, the GM who agrees to trade for Beasley would be the most hated man in the NBA.
  18. broussard also starting to pimp the lebron/miami possiblity in his twitter i don't think i'd watch the nba if this happened
  19. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5338472 ok, if it's true that those 3 actually met this weekend, i'm officially terrified of the possibility of all 3 going to miami.
  20. i heard that lou piniella ate a meal earlier today, even though he had a game tonight. WAY TO FOCUS LOU
  21. you're veering into colin cowherd territory (it's the hall of fame, not the "hall of very good") here ? that's a pretty baseless comparison. ultimately, the all-star game is an exhibition game. it's primary purpose is so gather up the biggest stars in the game and put them on one stage for one night. nobody wants to see brandon boesch just because he had a good 3 months. the only argument against this is the fact that the ASG determines HFA, but that is pretty much negated by the fact that fans can vote in players, which again reinforces that this is a game for the fans to see superstars play together.
  22. he has an awesome baseball track record
