  1. Coming from any other poster, I'd agree. This guy really seems to bask in it though. like i said, there's a understand the difference between a person venting about the cubs sucking and hoping the cubs suck. i want the cubs to win as badly as anybody. the problem is that i want them to win too much, which makes me get more pissed to see them do the same stupid things over and over again.
  2. i've been saying for a while that it's gonna suck hard when we get joe johnson and david lee but at least we'll win 50 games and maybe a playoff series, or something
  3. how would that even work though? 3 players like that? it could be amazing, but it could also be a disaster. plus, what would they have outside of that? they'd have absolutely no depth whatsoever. who would their 4th best player be?
  4. yeah, i don't buy it. just saying that the possibility is frightening.
  5. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/06/report-wade-hopeful-heat-can-land-lebron-bosh.html this article alone means nothing, but it's starting to get concerning to see multiple reports that the heat might get wade, bosh, AND lebron. holy hell that would suck on so many levels.
  6. You kind of proved my point. Strasburg has been fantastic since he's been up. So has Boesch. Of course Strasburg has the higher career ceiling by far, but if you're going to put him in after only 7 career starts, how can you pass on Boesch after 60-some career games when he's been great, too. For those who don't know, through 53 games Boesch is .330/.389/.621 with 12 HR and 43 RBI. "For those who don't know" illustrates perfectly why he's not a candidate for the ASG. So even though he's put up really good stats in the 1/3rd of a year since he's been up, as has Strasburg, Boesch shouldn't get in because he doesn't have the hype or the media following? Welp, I guess that eliminates Gallardo and Greinke. it's called the all-star game. strasburg is a star, boesch isn't.

  8. In the very post I quoted you stated you were hoping for the Cubs to suck. In fact you called it awesome. no, i didn't. trying reading it again. I clearly stated, and I quote, "if we are going to suck this year, this is what i want." i'm saying that if the cubs are going to suck, they might as well tank hard to bring about changes and a higher draft pick. none of this 79-83 and minor changes stuff that leads to use being mediocre again next year and having the same problems over and over. either you have tons of trouble with simple reading comprehension, or you're just being willfully ignorant. considering you do this constantly, i think i know which one it is.
  9. it's awesome. if we are going to suck this year, this is what i want. i want a [expletive] circus. i want this [expletive] to get completely disastrous. What do you mean "this year"? You revel in the Cubs' misery every year. you seem to have a hard time telling the difference between venting about the cubs sucking and hoping for the cubs to suck. but hey, it's davearm. you specialize in faulty logic and making no sense.
  10. strasburg is getting national'd tonight. comical defense being played behind him in the 7th. booted double play, throwing to the wrong base, not being able to field a bunt, etc edi: now another error. these dudes are good
  11. Anyone can have a good 1/5th of a year. very few pitchers can have a 1/5 of a season as good as strasburg's had. he hasn't just been good, he's been insane. you could say that about every player
  12. it's awesome. if we are going to suck this year, this is what i want. i want a [expletive] circus. i want this [expletive] to get completely disastrous.
  13. In what context was he saying this? he's saying it in the context that he is steve stone, and that's about all i need to know about it
  14. i hope they do. it won't really affect us at all since we suck this year, and will weaken their team for the future (when we'll probably still suck)
  15. simmons is ripping SAS on his twitter
  16. i think bj is just pissed that it turns out he sucks
  17. I just don't know why he'd go out of his way to tell people that they didn't need to make any more trades and they are 'fine' regarding cap space. leverage/posturing
  18. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5333971 sad
  19. bj upton flipped out at longoria today or yesterday just as bad as Z did, but nobody is talking about it.
  20. has there ever been an offseason like this in any of the 4 major sports?
  21. where's truffle? looks like the flyers are getting nabakov http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/37952034/ns/sports-player_news/ considering what they had last year, that's about as massive an upgrade as you can get in goal.
  22. yeah, it doesn't really matter what he said. the numbers are pretty telling. obviously we don't exactly what it looks like because of these weird rules that we're suddenly learning about, but we're definitely going to lose at least one more guy. really if all we end up losing now is versteeg or ladd, i'd be absolutely amazed/thrilled.
  23. Apparently Ric Bucher said LBJ likes Joe Johnson. So with the reports/rumors now coming out of Johnson and the Knicks, people at RealGM are speculating that the Knicks know that LeBron wants JJ, and they'4re trying to lure Johnson away from the Bulls. Which would mean we'd have to find a way to max Johnson to get him (and LBJ) here. Really though, none of us know anything and we're just running in circles trying to figure out stuff we have no clue about.
  24. I will seriously hug Bowman if he is able to bring this team back under the cap sans Buff, Sopel, Eager and Frasier. That's phenomenal. i think that's impossible
  25. saw this on Mike McGraw's blog
