the crawford and rip speculation is likely one or the other, not both. who would you guys rather have? rip would definitely be cheaper. i still hope we can someone get jrich to take a little less money to come play for a contender. he would be ideal.

for the people are getting upset at the lack of moves, what exactly would you have liked cubs management to do differently? nobody wants pujols at 250m, we have no place for reyes, nobody wants buerhle at whatever he got, nobody wants bell at 27 mil, and we had no chance at cj wilson. as for ramirez, it was pretty much universally considered a good decision on here to let him walk, and it seems inevitable that he's going to get a big contract that nobody here would want any part of. so again, what exactly would you have liked them to do differently so far?

the vast majority of the people on this board would have hated all of those signings except cj wilson. a reliever for 27 mil? jose reyes for over 100? pujols for 254? buerhle for almost 60? stop your whining, those are bad contracts.

It's called denial. Let me know how they feel a few weeks into next year. yup. they're still in that honeymoon phase of winning the world series is dramatic fashion. once a few games are played next season and they realize what they just lost, they'll feel it.

You just said Pujols was the best player in the game and that his contract was not a surprise. And I would not want the Cubs spending that. And how are they bad contracts? They're trying to win and win for a long time. i honestly don't even know what you're trying to say with this post. i never said the contract was good. i said it was bad. how was soriano's contract bad? they were trying to win and win for a long time!

Why the Rangers hate? not really sure. it's probably irrational, but something about that team annoys me. it didn't help when they blew the world series against the cardinals.

There's a number of people who are kinda silly about honor and legacy and all that, but it's hard for them to get worked up over 10/250 when all the talk had been anchored near 200 million thus far. well i can understand not being upset that they didn't give him 250 million to stay, but the way they're attempting to act as if it's no big deal is pretty funny. a lot of "i'm not too upset" comments and stuff like that.
