  1. did he almost throw it away? mlb.tv wasn't working, so i was watching on gameday. it said "swinging strike (blocked)" and then took forever to update to final. it was terrifying
  2. yeah, but that's good. it means the world series didn't make cubs baseball. the season after the blackhawks won their first cup, i found it really hard to be invested. i haven't really felt that way about the cubs at all.
  3. now that the shock is gone, i'm really excited to have saad back. we'll probably end up bringing sharp back too. he might kind of suck, but it will still be cool.
  4. lets make fun of the brewers when the cubs actually pass them
  5. that was the first cubs game I've attended since 2008. I had great seats too. fuuuuu
  6. not sure how I feel about panarin/saad, but that hjalmarsson deal looks really bad.
  7. is "ass" a direction?
  8. i predict a lot of world class loafing from dwyane wade next season
  9. hahahahahaha horsefeathers you bulls
  10. i can't remember ever seeing a home run go into the stands that violently
  11. Butler wasn't exactly great himself. also he was over 90 pitches so it shouldn't be a huge controversy Those are good points and he did look like his usual ugly somehow effective self... he hasn't been usually effective, he sucks
  12. that's like the 4th time this week willson mistakenly thought he had a homer
  13. it not great in the immediate future, but if there's a chance of extending the window another 3-4 years, it helps there. it definitely makes panarin more realistic in a couple years.
  14. is he "can't" play because of this, he'll just go on the ltir for the rest of the contract, and there will be no recapture penalties (if he just retired, there would be a 4.275 cap hit for each of the 4 remaining years of his contract). it's been speculated for years that some injury would force him into retirement near the end of his contract. and 17-18 also happens to be the year his actual salary drops down to 1 million.
