  1. if you knew we had no chance at harper, would you want stanton?
  2. Why would they need more money then? he told them he might as well get maxed out if he’s going to sign there and they are in no position to say no. yep
  3. once they smell the tank w, they are unstoppable
  4. i think i remember a verified person on twitter saying that sf is one of his preferred options
  5. Are you talking about shazier? yeah. i just can't watch tackle football anymore.
  6. i had no idea who he was until now
  7. debrincat looks like a star, but that seabrook extension was crushing
  8. he should veto every trade that's not to a home run friendly park. that's what i would do, since he's already got the money.
  9. bonds would have put up a .950 ops at 46 if they let him
  10. yeah i'm willing to go all out meatball on this. soft as horsefeathers. doctors had cleared him to play and he opted not to. i thought this at the time, but considering all the horsefeathers that happened after that, i'm thinking that he knew his body was a mess and it was more than just coming back from a torn acl
  11. if he knew he was breaking down, why would he hurry to come back and play for a coach who was running players into the ground?
  12. with all the baggage that can come with pro athletes, it's hard for me to criticize a guy too much for being "soft" after suffering numerous serious injuries
  13. rose sucks but i'm not going to blame him for quitting or whatever. the amount of injuries he's had is insane, to the point where there are problem legitimate quality of life concerns. it's easy to say he should have just walked away earlier if he's checked out, but that's probably a pretty hard thing to give up on. he was just at the top of the field like 5 years ago, he does suck though
  14. the stamkos/kucherov line is insane
  15. haha i just remembered that the dodgers got to within 1 win of a world series and came away with nothing
  16. Yeah, I'm thinking for one of those two, it'd take two of Happ/Almora/Schwarber and prospects (or just Russell plus some prospects?). The alternative would be the Happ-for-closer type trade that was being discussed here a few days ago, and then one of the other two for a mid/back of the rotation controllable starter (ideally a younger pitcher with upside). I'd go for Schwarber and Russell instead of Happ or Almora. Schwarber needs to be in the AL because he was born to DH. Russell can be replaced by moving Baez to SS with Happ/Zobrist playing 2B & LF. Almora has shown me enough to be a solid CF and Happ has the power, speed, and versatility to be a valuable member of the team for the next decade. weird
  17. it's nice that free agents who want a winning culture actually want to come here now
  18. hahahaha. what was the fallout when you got back?
  19. All of the old Cubs.com people, remember that guy that faked his death by pretending to be his own brother going online to say goodbye after he had drowned in a boating accident? Then he showed up a couple months later to say it was research for a paper he was writing for a psychology class. Good times. didn't imb do something similar to this as a joke? i remember somebody on here telling a story just like that
  20. "creep" is not the word i would use for a serial rapist
  21. remember that old chipper jones picture that looked just like him?
  22. i could see the bum family having a youtube channel with a few million subs
