  1. the brewers were not nearly better than the cubs last year. the cubs are also obviously adding a pitcher. What? They were a young team that had a 5.5 game lead on them at one point. They fell apart at the end of the year. They've added a ton so far, what if they sign Darvish? finishing 6 games behind a team (with an inferior run differential) does not mean you were "nearly better" than them. once the cubs got quintana and fixed their rotation, they obliterated them. factor in the likely regression for their veterans who overachieved last year, and the difference between the 2 teams going into 2018 is going to be obvious.
  2. why would you think that If the Cubs don't make a move heading into the regular season, their moves are Chatwood and Morrow and lost Arrieta? The Brewers were nearly better than them last year. the brewers were not nearly better than the cubs last year. the cubs are also obviously adding a pitcher.
  3. why would you think that
  4. odd
  5. Nobodys scared. I'm just waiting for the finished product before projecting win totals. Crazy stuff the point is that they can add a lot more and still be projected to be mediocre
  6. They still have plenty of cash to burn and a surplus of outfielders to trade.... I wouldn't start making win projections just yet. we found a guy who is scared of the brewers
  7. highheat is legit?
  8. i still can't decide if i like him or not
  9. i don't understand why they think the cubs have mortgaged their future or whatever. is it just because they traded eloy and are wasting money on heyward? they seem to have no understanding of what the cubs plan has been from the beginning. i know sports fans are dumb in general, but this narrative they've got going over there about the cubs is too odd to ignore. as for the barren farm system criticism-
  10. now i kind of hope we don't get him, so that guy loos like a dick
  11. yeah, what? I’m saying if he has a bad couple of years and breaks down (as many pitchers do). and what if eloy ends up sucking (as most prospects do)
  12. *copies and pastes into word document* i'm still disappointed you never made one for the cubs winning the ws, but i understand you were sad about trump
  13. 5-6 years ago i would have been shocked to know this would be the reality, but i'd be even more shocked to know that it wouldn't even bother me that's actually not even close to being true ?
  14. 5-6 years ago i would have been shocked to know this would be the reality, but i'd be even more shocked to know that it wouldn't even bother me
  15. i don't feel confident in that at all
  16. either the quote or brett's translation makes no sense
  17. has anybody heard anything about 4k options for the olympics? i can't really find any information about it.
  18. is driving up the price for an opponent a real thing?
  19. Man that Rizzo one cracks me up every time. Man, I'd forgotten about the Coughlin magic. Hard to choreograph that better. Ask Wesley Snipes.
  20. they will lose to the cavs in the frst round, but lebron will be so impressed that he signs with the bulls to finish his career and pass the all-time leaders in everything while playing in michael's house
  21. this crawford injury is bad and also the hawks might be bad
  22. resigned? that's a monster offseason
  23. Signing Darvish isn't a sure thing and those relievers are going fast. Because the cubs already got 2 of the best ones
