  1. there is limited record of this, as it happened in the before-times
  2. Assuming they've got the agreement or whatever figured out.
  3. we all know the brewers are winning 40 games with a +4 differential
  4. couldn't you do something similar for most teams?
  5. maybe start by getting teams the horsefeathers out of arizona and florida
  6. none of these sports are actually going to happen this year
  7. But will we, really? If the Cubs win the World Series in a drastically-shortened season, and do it with no fans in the stands, will that feel at all special? I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around appreciating such an accomplishment. this is my point. it doesn't have to be "special" for us , because we already get the next-level special one 4 years ago with the same core. if the cubs hadn't won already, i'd almost not want them to win this year because it wouldn't feel real and we'd enter this bizarre "the cubs broke the curse but actually they kind of didn't" reality going forward. since they have the legit one, sure, i'll take the fun bonus of winning the covid season too.
  8. This season is basically just an exhibition season. Nobody's really gonna care about it. The NBA will be even worse. win/win for non-astros teams who have won titles recently. if the cubs win, we can brag about them having 2 in recent memory. if someone we dislike wins, who cares, we can just make fun of it and annoy their fans forever by calling it a fake season.
  9. bonds may have hit 100 if he decided to approach every at-bat like baez
  10. having 762 total home runs while only hitting 50 once is unfathomable. maintaining just like 5 years of sustained excellence in this sport is extremely tough. to average 35 homers over a 22 year stretch doesn't seem possible.
  11. that's literally the only reason I would ever watch a movie about the home run chase
  12. if you're quiet, you can hear faint echoes of "shut up and pitch" ringing in the air
  13. i really hope rizzo can maintain like an .800+ ops into his mid 30s and stay with the cubs forever on reasonable deals
  14. The opposing pitcher from Rookie of the Year wins it how many famous asses did you think of before you came up with the rookie of the year reference?
  15. stone cold has been legit for a while https://deadspin.com/stone-cold-steve-austin-gives-a-nsfw-defense-of-gay-m-1566573678 (real deadspin)
  16. i thought there were enough fat white linemen to even things out
  17. i didn't realize the nfl player base was like 70% black. but that coaching staff still doesn't necessarily look like a problem to me. Do you watch the NFL? not really anymore
  18. you think a staff being 36% black has a lack of representation? I'm saying that Kyle can help solve the problem by giving more non-white coaches a chance to work their way up the coaching ranks. And yes, I think 36% is a lack of representation when more than 36% of the players are black. i didn't realize the nfl player base was like 70% black. but that coaching staff still doesn't necessarily look like a problem to me.
  19. what? He's asking how there are only 4 black head coaches in the league. Most head coaches work their way through the coaching ranks under other head coaches, and Shanahan only has 8 black assistant coaches on his staff. My point is that he can help by giving more non-white candidates opportunities on his own staff you think a staff being 36% black has a lack of representation?
  20. what?
  21. hawks are back in the playoffs
  22. 2005 was still 480p, wasn't it? i always wonder how today's stuff will look decades from now. we're already getting diminishing returns from resolution,so i wonder what kind of technology will advance the way home displays look.i guess hdr on sports would be a good start.
