    i don't know about that. wilken wants to be the director of amateur scouting somewhere, he wants to run a draft. to a guy like that, the only true promotion is to GM or that fake president tag Theo holds. he may have gotten a nice little raise, theo, jed, and jason may respect him a great deal, enough to give him that raise and keep him around. but he simply wasn't respected enough to be retained in the position that he was in. That's some backward-ass logic right there, Sulley. The fact that they promoted him out of his old position means they didn't respect him? Reeeeeeediculous

    I have a really dumb question that is nothing if not a random baseball musing. For a couple obvious reasons, Theo was the first GM I really remember knowing by name and face. One of the main reasons was that playoff baseball broadcasts were fond of showing him cheering on his Sox from his skybox at Fenway. Was this something he did during the season as well, or do I only think so because the only time I'd watch a Red Sox game was in the playoffs? Have Len and Bob ever mentioned him watching a game or had a camera show him in a box?

    When did Sammy Sosa ever get demonized? He pretty much just faded into obscurity once he stopped being good. Sammy Sosa was loved by most of the fanbase until he started declining,a and then he did a few things that made it seem like he didn't care about the team. If Sammy Sosa became a hitting coach right now, he'd probably be treated the same as McGwire. You don't remember the whole leaving the last game early and boombox-gate? He apparently quit following the Cubs for 5 consecutive years in the 2000s.

    I'm more with Mojo, where I feel like bringing it up as detracting from their accomplishments is boring and negative. From Theo's comment, I inferred that he meant Bolt was benefiting from them when no one else was. I either hope that everyone else is clean or no one is, I guess.

    Well being an assistant the the premier GM in the game would certainly open up a few doors down the road then, would it not? Right. This particular promotion seems well in line with what Toonster believes are his long-term goals. Who cares if it leads to an AGM position in this organization?
