  1. I've been spending a lot of time in DC lately and needling Nats fans about future Cub Bryce Harper. For most, the Cubs aren't even on their radar. They expect him either to be signed by 1) the Yankees or 2) the Nats, in that order. I don't think most of them have any idea of how the luxury tax works.
  2. the sopranos gifs are model trains, not a cause of but instead a mere trifling distraction on our path to our imminent demise. eat at arbys is this a variation of "go eat a sandwich by yourself?"
  3. Tommy Pham is only a little bitter about how the Cardinals have treated him. The SI article is really good - you definitely feel for this guy. Plus he cites his own WAR and quotes the $8 mil/year value of WAR to highlight his pay discrepancy. Pretty impressive stuff. This guy is like Jake Arrieta but smart https://www.si.com/mlb/2018/04/02/tommy-pham-st-louis-cardinals?utm_campaign=sinow&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=social&xid=socialflow_twitter_si

  5. This is the same nonsense you spouted ad nauseam last year. We told you repeatedly that you were digging too deep into things and trying to make stats say things that they weren't capable of saying. And then the Cubs BABIP'd .328 in the second half last year, completely debunking your notions. And now you're ready to dive back in after a 5 game sample? I mean, seriously, you are trying to take Pull% from 4 games and deducing some Big Theory about our organizational philosophies. First half 2017: 43.6 (1st) Second: 39.9 (16th) They didn't debunk horsefeathers. Maddon even talked about it several times last season. He said he was preaching the same thing but the hitters weren't listening. It's not an organizational philosophy; it's a lot of young hitters who aren't yet adept at hitting the ball where it's pitched. This is nothing, and you should feel bad for saying it

  7. I get that it's annoying that they are messing up their draft position, but "tanking" is always a front office strategy, never a player strategy. The players are never going to lose on purpose. why is this at all worth saying?
  8. Wrigley will be just as bad the next 2 months. It's why being a home run or bust team like the Cubs will cost you. This is a very stupid thing you just said
  9. What? No. This zone has been really good so far, and that was a very close pitch
  10. that curve looks REALLY hittable, and this guy can't command his FB for horsefeathers
  11. Eddie Butler is hitting for himself and that'll be it for me
  12. Rondon fan is irrationally pessimistic, Derwood is your uncle who knows you like baseball and corners you at a cookout oh. my. god.
  13. I REALLY don't think that was a changeup to get Schwarbs. Took a little off a 2 seam IMO
