  1. Pirates. \:D/ I'm sure he'll sign with a Major League team instead. :D =D>
  2. I would expect a bit more power from Ethier, minus the defense.
  3. They wouldn't settle for less than Hill. I was thinking this same thing, unfortunately. Do they have any non-amazing pitching prospects that could be packaged w/ Ethier in a deal for Hill?
  4. Where do I push the done deal button? It's Hendry's belly button. Just have to hunt him down. Just be forewarned - he giggles like the Pillsbury Doughboy when you do . . . it's kinda creepy, really. If you do it with your left hand and do it quickly, he may just sign you onto the roster I loled a bit
  5. Have you forgotten who runs this team?! There is absolutely no one worse than Brian Sabean. Anywhere. Ever.
  6. I disagree, 1. If they asked for Zambrano, we could simply laugh. 2. Even the Yankees have expressed interest in shedding some payroll and adding some budding stars. Or at least keeping their own. The Yankees organization isnt familiar with the term "shedding payroll". I was more leaning towards "cost conscience" more this year than they've ever been. Come on!!! The Yankees have no conscience, but while it is unlikely, they may be cost-conscious. Please speak English.
  7. Are you attributing more value to Chris Burke than Sam Fuld!? Very few know that Sam Fuld sucks, while everyone knows that Chris Burke sucks.
  8. Not funny. ](*,) [-( Since nothing is happening in this thread, does someone want to explain why and from where Rick Roll originated? Were you trying to be sneaky or where you taking my question a tad too literally?

  10. As long as he sticks to his guns about not trading Hill or Pie, he really can't do much damage. I think Marmol would have to be part of the deal, and I'd be ok with that.
  11. There seems to be some doubt as to whether Marshall can stay healthy for a full season. I think his upside is a #4 starter, because although he has great control, he doesn't have the stuff to be more than slightly above average for a full season. Gallagher, on the other hand, has a plus curve and a pretty good fastball. He is definitely the less-proven of the two, but with a considerably higher upside. Marshall's value is as a spot starter/long relief guy IMO so it depends on what the GM in question is really looking for.
  12. Because no one else saw this coming. Its not like the Sooners were favored or anything [sarcasm]
  13. Why must be why Beane is actively shopping Nick Swisher...
  14. If I were Cabrera, I would really be pretty offended by this. Loria is an a-hole.
  15. I will be seriously pissed if this goes down without significantly hurting the Cards' farm. That said, I'm shocked that Rolen *appears* to have value.
  16. I've been following the talks over at orioleshangout.com, and the general consensus is that MacPhail is going to completely dismantle the team and start over. Bedard and Tejada are pretty much as good as gone. It wouldn't surprise me seeing Roberts traded as well. Does Cedeno, Pie, Marshall, and Veal get it done for Roberts and Tejada? We'd probably have to give a bit more. Sub Gallagher for Veal and call it an offseason.
  17. Play him at catcher. Uh huh. Yeah, you could do that. Mauer would really improve their bench  How much longer is he going to be able to catch without jeopardizing his health? Mauer DHes and fills in for Clement and Morneau. So, at this point in his career, you're already having Mauer back up Clement? In that case, I suppose he makes sense for Minny.
  18. And I'd rather have herpes than syphilis. syphilis can be cured Yes, but like signing Eckstein for three years, it can also kill you :D
  19. What would Minnesota do with Jeff Clement? I don't understand the mention of him here. Play him at catcher. Uh huh. Yeah, you could do that. Mauer would really improve their bench
  20. Agreed about UM. His only real weakness is recruiting playmakers - IIRC he didn't recruit at least two of his 2002 playmakers. Thinking Banks and DC. He has never gotten close to duplicating that offense. All that aside, I don't see him leaving for at least a few years, and I know that no one wants him gone because of this season - we all blame Christensen
