  1. Fixed. Okay. While I agree that these recent callups are logical, and aren't necessarily doom-spelling for Murton or Cedeno, I get a little tired of this. Murton is a totally fine left fielder. He's right about average, by the most reasonable metrics we've got. Right field is another story, but he's no worse - and probably better - than Floyd or Ward out there. But I don't think it matters how he compares to Floyd/Ward... Murton would be the right-handed half of a RF platoon. He needs to be compared to DeRo, which isn't looking good for Matty...
  2. This team is seriously messing w/ me.. I mean, over the past few years, they got down by an early run, I knew for a fact they were gonna lose. I could accept it & go on w/ my day. Now....hell, they never seem to be out of a game, and better yet, they can overcome some gaffes as well.. Unbelievable; this recent run has been amazing to witness after the horrid start to the year.
  3. Hate to say it, but Kerry is screwed now that the national media are picking up on this. Buster Olney just did a quick bit on Kerry's progress during Sports Center... I wish Kerry could just fly below the radar & suddenly make a miraculous appearance in the Cubs bullpen mid-August...
  4. that, and i think the come from behind victory over the brewers, capped by ARam's walkoff bomb, really got this team going Yep, another great win, but I still think the Rockies game was so huge because: (1) that's exactly the kind of game the Cubs have been losing the past few years; and (2) losing that kind of lead late can be devastating emotionally, even for pro athletes. I'm not gonna quibble though, every win the past 6-8 weeks has been big...
  5. Nope it started with the sweep at the Cell. Right before that we had just dropped 2 of 3 at Texas, and I was wondering if I should even bother following the Cubs-Sox series. Yep. After Sammy's 600th, I figured that would be the last watchable thing about this team for the season. Then the 7 game win streak happened. It really started to roll when we blew a 8-3 lead in the 9th to the Rocks, only to come back and win the game in the bottom of the 9th. That loss would've been devastating! :hammer meet nail: Dead on accurate, IMO... When we look back after winning the World Series this year, that will be THE GAME which for the ages will be known as the turning point....
  6. Len, Re: the last D'bag out that inning: "Looked like Marquis threw a sinker to Moore..." Wish he would've thrown that same ball to Chris Young instead of that fat ol' hanger..
  7. At least Webb hhas to throw some pitches thi sinning..
  8. It was already done with Drew's error in the 2nd. What Tomy23 said...
  9. Webb has, what, like 12 pitches through 3 innings now?
  10. Double? Or did they give Sori the E? Double...can't give Sori an E as he didn't even get a glove on it, I think
  11. How could he have if Mitre pitched a shutout? Last I knew, a HR is part of the cycle.. Lee and Mitre were both Cubs at the time. Oh...me is dumb..I though he was talking about when we faaced Mitre earlier this year..
  12. How could he have if Mitre pitched a shutout? Last I knew, a HR is part of the cycle.. ETA: NVM...I forgot Mitre didn't go the distance...DLee didn't have a cycle in any event
  13. Marquis is gonna get rocked today, but Cubbies still win as the youngsters come through (Moore will hit a HR), Cubs win 9-7.
  14. Did I mention the part where the Cubs are above .500 at the time and he doesn't have shoulder surgery two weeks later? Nitpicker!!!! :P
  15. Hey Cubbies, all I ask is that you score more than the D'bags, o.k.?
  16. Yeah, there is that one small factor... Man, I love KW, but it breaks my heart every time he has a set-back. I want him to walk away w/ his dignity & health...
