  1. Winning would be nice, but I'd settle for signs of life from the offense at least....
  2. The 4-1 homestand seems so long ago now.... This road trip will continue to be ugly for us, I'm afraid
  3. Peavy in the South Side would be.....oh, abhorrent
  4. For the love of [expletive] God Jake [expletive] Fox is not the [expletive] savior, give it up. LOL
  5. 15 innings of Piniero, Carpenter fresh off the DL & a nondescript bullpen arm = 0 runs for the Cubs
  6. Poor Demp...he's pitched pretty well tonight too j/k; I think we can get to the Cards 'pen--that's me trying to be optimistic
  7. Cubs look "meh" again tonight... Hoping to get Carp out of there soon & beat up on the Cards bullpen
  8. Cotts actually isn't sucking today...figures it's when we're down by 3 in the 9th
  9. He's run into a couple pitches... His bat still looks slow to me, but hopefully he can go from totally worhtless to only crappy
  10. I heard Len say in the pre-game the following day that the ball was "retrieved" & given to Scales; no details about whether there was any kind of trade, or if the fan gave it to him in person. By "retrieved" I took it to mean someone from Wrigley/Cubs staff got it from the fan...
  11. As suggested by a couple of people in other threads, I'd rather that Marshall were going & Rich held back till Tuesday.... But, since he's gonna go, I'm hoping from an efficient 7 innings, and getting removed with less than 100 pitches. One can hope, right?
  12. He's had the requisite "experience" as a closer, thus he can't be a sham
  13. I completely agree with this logic. But it leads me to ask, if it's a "hot/cold" thing, why do the Cubs key hitters consistentyly end up on the cold side of the equation? For example, when looking at a simple stat of a lead off man, Soriano has a .125 OBP the last two post seasons for the Chicago Cubs. His job at the top is to get on base. He has failed in a freakishly spectacular fashion, perhaps setting an overall tone of futility from the first pitch of the series. Ramirez, the Cubs most consistent run producer and "clutch" hitter in the regular season goes compeltely ice cold under the pressure. His OBP is .163 with *zero* rbi's and three total bases the past two post seasons. Soriano also has three total bases and zero RBI. There's "going cold", and then there is a very bleak and recognizable pattern from your best hitters when the post season pressure is on. Not to nitpick, but Sori's job is to score runs...and he does a good job of that. In a small sample size of the playoffs, not good, but the point still stands
  14. Hopefully it's something like "Marmol is our closer now" Id prefer Guzman, leave Marmol where he is Yes, this
  15. A win is a win, but Gregg & Heilman need to be relegated to mop-up duty....unfortunately, that means Guz & Marmol being worn down the the ASB
  16. Scales was meat with a decent throw...glad Big Bird threw it to the backstop
  17. I'd still trust Demp more than Miles to get the job done...
  18. Does your scenario involve moving home plate to second base for his AB?
  19. Im going to guess the guy on your avatar. Yeah, but the guy in his avatar costs, what, 4 Aaron Miles?
