  1. Why didn't someone tell Kris Bryant the Giants were 9-0 in elimination games
  2. Here's where the MVP extends for one of those sliders on the outer half and hooks it into the 4th row.
  3. Giants had all the momentum going into game 1 too and it did horsefeathers all. If we don't come back tonight, we'll still have a massive advantage against Matt Moore tomorrow, and then I'll still take Lester over Cueto if it gets to that. This has been a confusing, frustrating game, but bullpens are going to bullpen, no matter how supposedly unhittable some pieces of garbage are advertised as being. Offense will hit, and we will be fine. It's different when we are talking about elimination games. The Giants have the even year mystique, the 9-0 in elimination games etc. none of that mattered to the Cubs but now the Giants have to be slightly in the Cubs heads. The Giants have nothing to lose...they don't have the 108 year drought or the 103 win season or the 7 all stars. I don't know how much psyche matters or how much it matters to this team but I guess we will find out This is all really dumb. Go back and watch that stupid Costas interview with Rizzo and Bryant. None of these players could give a horsefeathers about (or probably are even aware of) everything you mentioned. We are clearly the better team, and the odds are still highly in our favor that we're going to show that by winning this series.
  4. Giants will have all the momentum and nothing to lose. But the Cubs have a lot of veterans on this team that have been here before and can steady the team hopefully Giants had all the momentum going into game 1 too and it did horsefeathers all. 5. I was 100% against this trade, for character reasons but also because I thought it was highly unlikely that we'd run into a situation where we'd need that difference between a Chapman and a Montgomery to meaningfully add to our Championship hopes. I, um, take back the second part. Let's horsefeathering go.
  6. Why is it that the stupidest looking players always have to be the loudest ones.
  7. Rondon and Chapman. That's why you have both of them. Plus the top of the order comes through for insurance in the top. We got this.
  8. This game seems like it would be unbelievably frustrating for Giants fans.
  9. "Fly ball to Heyward, who hey look, he's playing right field now, which we ignored because reasons. Anyways, two outs."
  10. So Heyward is coming in for Soler but Joe didn't put him in as a pinch runner?
  11. DIdn't end up mattering, but weird series of inaction from Joe there. Sitting down Monty and putting Wood in his place doesn't inspire a lot of confidence either.
  12. I mean, what is this, a C+ effort from the Cubs so far this series overall? And we're 9 outs away from sweeping?
  13. Derek Law just increased the Giants chance of winning this series from 3% to 4% and celebrated accordingly.
  14. Reverse splits for Law and Maddon didn't want to waste Contreras this early? That's about all I got. Nice job Matty V.
  15. I love how Smoltz thinks Jake Arrieta, career .519 OPS, is now the biggest threat in the Cubs lineup. Three lefties on the bench....weird call.
  16. He hit that hard. Unfortunately for them, none of the rest of their lineup would make our postseason roster (obviously except Bumgarner as a fourth starter).
