It's hard to talk about coaching without sounding too much like a meatball sports fan, but...I'm fine with it. This team has all the motivation/veteran leadership they need sitting in the locker room already. What they need is someone to teach these fringe-y young players how to develop into reliable NHL players. At this point in Q's career, I can't really see that being up his alley, both in terms of his skill set and his interest level. Whether it actually accomplishes anything in the short term...probably not. The team stinks (and some of that/a lot of that falls on Bowman, who made the decision today). But I guess it's worth a shot. I'm willing to bet this came with the blessing, either implicit or explicit, of Toews, Keith, etc.
