  1. are you using GameDay Audio? Why are you faster than me?
  2. That's all anyone is getting. Let's hope it's very temporary. mine is working, I got that error, but just kept closing the window and opening a new one, until it worked
  3. I'm almost positive steroids at what not were illegal, baseball just didn't test for it. I believe according to the CBA that if it was illegal to us a drug in the US it was illegal to use if you were a baseball player.
  4. I'm told it's the 29th, but I haven't actually been to the website to check myself.
  5. 100% agree. I've seen other players do the same move and get no publicity over it... but Jeter... oh boy! Didn't Freel actually dive into the stands to make the catch earlier that year, and get lambasted for it since he injured a woman?
  6. i disagree. you can see the washington player's eye level go from the other players to the UCLA player's face. looks intentional to me. plus as he's throwing it, he is moving to get out of the way of the ricochet. Obviously that doesn't mean he was aiming for the face, but it does impy he was at least trying to hit him in the body. If that's the case though he has terrible aim.
  7. Being decent for a long period of time does have value. Whether Vizquel could be considered a decent hitter for that time is up for debate I guess. i have a tough time using 3000 hits (for example) as a standard for induction if it took the player 22 years and 10,000 at bats to get there that's still a .300 batting average.
  8. a little tidbit about Steroids and Sosa in a THT article
  9. so far the couple of Cardinal fans I talked to are in denial that Pujols juiced, it's kind of funny.
  10. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports_hardball/2007/11/cubs-raise-tick.html
  11. I'll be at the game Saturday too, so if you want me to hold up a Soto sign I will. Just let me know by Friday at noon.
  12. It's probably because it's a noon start so should be over by the time the national game starts at 3.
  13. This is about Home Run Park Factor, but I think it is still kind of on topic.
  14. I was actually sitting here thinking I could cancel my 1pm hearing, leave after lunch and get there in plenty of time. Then turn around and get home in time to still get a bit of sleep. WTF is wrong with me???!!! I think I'm coming down with a cold or something, I better take the afternoon off. ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! any other day I would do it, but my boss just gave me something that needs to be done this afternoon
  15. What were the dates for those starts? IIRC he struggled early.
  16. You mean the one I'm looking out my window at right now...its not a secret :D Nobody parks there though. They all go to the $5 Famous Barr garage across the street, it seems.
  17. I shouldn't give away my secret, because it's nice having a garage to myself, but there is a $3 garage at 7th & Pine, just west of 7th on Pine. It's only like 5 blocks from the stadium, and is pretty easy to get out of.
  18. I don't think MLB gets the recognition it deserves to devoting resources to trying to develop a test for HGH. The much lauded NFL has done almost nothing to help find a test.
  19. No rules against it, but the Cubs could just take the walks until they got a safe lead, and then swing at every pitch even if it was 5 feet outside in order to strike out and end the inning. and then the cardinals miss the 3rd strike on purpose so it goes to the backstop. Then the Cubs' batter doesn't run to first base, and Molina doesn't go back to retrieve the ball. It'd be hilarious. It's like the South Park episode, when they are tired of playing baseball so they try to lose on purpose.
  20. if it's like St. Louis, these storms are really hit and miss. It will ran cats & dogs for 5 - 10 min and then stop just as quick as it started.
  21. Prob typo for CDT. Ah, my bad. CDT. CDT = Central Daylight Time...right? correct
  22. What happened? Furcal fouled a pitch off his leg.
  23. that's one way to slow the other team's running game.
  24. That's a cumulative stat, correct? I thought it was but since Dempster and Marmol are towards the top and both have missed significant time it makes me think it isn't.
