  1. Thinking islandcub is a lost cause.
  2. Yeah, would have liked to seen Hoff over Fuk w/ Fuld in center (if Lou is intent on getting him a start)
  3. HAHAHA Fielder just got caught stealing third. :-)) :-)) :-)) I think it was suppose to be a hit and run. Sounds more like the Cubs. And he got to second by way of a balk.....very odd happenings indeed.
  4. Radar seems to show something similar to last night....I bet you'll be OK
  5. Had a good time at the couple games I was at. It was my first time in Pitt since I was about 10 and they played at Three Rivers. Very nice stadium and staff. Too bad there is just NOTHING to do in Pittsburgh.
  6. Ha wow, that was only 2 sections over... no I didn't notice that - hope you're OK. Oh yeah I'm doing OK, I'm a gamer. Just embarassing, especially when nobody notices "the tip" and just think I have the worst hands in the world. The Pitt ushers/staff were great though, even made me feel like a little kid by giving me a ball, haha.
  7. AF - Did you see me get rocked in the face by foul ball in 1st inning last night (section 119)? Perfect foul ball right to me; it was hit fairly hard but I easily had it. Going to have an easy two handed catch like right at my chest and out of nowhere this like 6'7'' dude 2 rows in front of me tips it and it nails me in the mouth....blood everywhere. Fat lip this morning.
  8. Why not put him there? He can't really play 3rd either. At least at 3rd he doesn't have to turn DP's I agree with this, but Fontenot is pretty awful at second and he would be playing there everyday if Ramirez didn't get hurt. Yeah, it's probably a confidence thing too.
  9. Why not put him there? He can't really play 3rd either. At least at 3rd he doesn't have to turn DP's
  10. i don't get that either. once he didn't play 3B when sent down, i figured the cubs had abandoned the idea. then when he comes back up he gets all kinds of time at 3B. he's still one terrible play away from Lou having a knee-jerk "we won't be using Fox at 3B anymore" moment, but I hope he can delay the inevitable. Definitely wouldn't be surprised to see a bunt his way today
  11. That's probably the best lineup we can put out there minus Theriot
  12. Jake - know of good places to go before/after games in Pittsburgh? All over 21
  13. Font is my biggest disappointment this year. I really thought he was capable of coming in on an everyday basis and putting up a .285 .360 line with 15 HR pop. Same here. :( And really, there was nothing that would lead you believe otherwise before this year. I mean sure he's going to regress from that 906 OPS or whatever he posted last year....but I didn't think this would be what would happen upon him receiving a starting role. Really depressing. Nothing? He hit double digit HR once as a pro and just barely put up those AVG/OBP as a relatively older minor leaguer. His pre-2008 numbers didn't come close to what he did last year and every indication was he was not an everyday player, because he can't hit against LHP. I thought he'd be a little better than he's been, but not much. His numbers are dragged down by a 400 OPS against LHP in more PA than he should really be getting against them. But his .246/.342/.401 line against RHP is not that disappointing from realistic expectations. Last year was a fluke. He's 29 now and he's not getting any better. This. Every move that Hendry made this off season was awful. Every single one. 1) Trading DeRosa - check 2) Gregg - check 3) Heilman - check 4) Vizcaino - check 5) Bradley - check 6) Miles - check Wood - fine by me
  14. The thing for me about Bradley though is that we are paying him what, 3/30? We're paying Fuk 4/48 or whatever. Both have been underperforming their contract, but not by a huge amount. Bradley is what he is, a high OBP oft-injured DH
  15. Fuku still has an OBP near .400 and we dont have anyone better to play CF. I wonder what Fontenot has to do to get benched. Have the Cubs sign a good player
  16. What the hell Mets? Cora - SS Castillo - 2B Wright - 3B Church - RF Tatis - LF F. Martinez - CF N. Evans - 1B O. Santos - C Nice lineup
  17. From what I can remember, velocity was down a bit but movement seemed OK.
  18. From Trib: Fox will be in left or right field Monday in Atlanta as Piniella plans to rest either Alfonso Soriano or Milton Bradley, who has a 10-game hitting streak. Reed is also out as the face 4 RH in a row.
  19. Just don't trade LVb to the central...talk about Cub killer
