  1. Doesn't he seem like a typical Cardinals player? Good hitter and fielder but not much power.
  2. This just in: Cubs are losing their actual real life baseball game that counts
  3. And you know what toons, it makes me feel a bit better that 9 other teams passed on Gray and 9+ on Guerrieri. I was right there with you earlier, but that eases me a bit.
  4. So what's the plan tomorrow? They got their high upside, young hitter. Some established pitching and more quick to the majors successful college players?
  5. Honestly Vance, I think most would just say "higher upside" at this point.
  6. Did the Brewers just draft Kris Benson 2.0?
  7. I sorta like what I'm seeing -- thanks for the vid's TT
  8. I'm sure they'll try to quiet his hands a bit, but man that is a quick swing
  9. I'm definitely OK with this pick if it's who they feel had the most upside if what was left. Best bat speed in draft apparently and I liked the video they showed on MLB Net.
  10. I feel like he's another Montanez
  11. If they don't I will personally kick Hendry in his ass. Granted, I don't know much about Rendon, but everyone says the Cubs need to make this a "can't miss" pick. Well, if Rendon really is injured then is he really can't miss?
  12. Me too! Girl drink tonight, Vodka and Hawaiian Punch 2006 Qupe Syrah for me. But I'm drinking for more than one reason. I get it, I grew up in Naperville

  14. How many teams can make the Cubs look stupid? Draft Order: 1. Pittsburgh Pirates - Gerrit Cole (RHP - UCLA) 2. Seattle Mariners - Danny Hultzen (LHP - Virginia) 3. Arizona Diamondbacks - Trevor Bauer (RHP - UCLA) 4. Baltimore Orioles - Dylan Bundy (RHP - Owasso HS, Oklahoma) 5. Kansas City Royals - Bubba Starling (OF - Gardner-Edgerton HS, Kansas) 6. Washington Nationals - Anthony Rendon (3B - Rice) 7. Arizona Diamondbacks (Loux - unsigned) - Archie Bradley (RHP - Broken Arrow HS, Oklahoma) 8. Cleveland Indians - Francisco Lindor (SS - Montverde Academy, Florida) 9. Chicago Cubs - Javier Baez (SS/3B - Arlington Country Day HS, Florida) 10. San Diego Padres (Whitson - unsigned) - Cory Spangenberg (3B - Indian River State College, Florida) 11. Houston Astros - George Springer (OF - UConn) 12. Milwaukee Brewers - Taylor Jungmann (RHP - Texas) 13. New York Mets - Brandon Nimmo (OF, Cheyenne East HS, Wyoming) 14. Florida Marlins - Jose Fernandez (RHP, Braulio Alonso HS, Florida) 15. Milwaukee Brewers (Covey - unsigned) - Jed Bradley (LHP - Georgia Tech) 16. Los Angeles Dodgers - Chris Reed (LHP - Stanford) 17. Los Angeles Angels - C.J. Cron (1B - Utah) 18. Oakland Athletics - Sonny Gray (RHP - Vanderbilt) 19. Boston Red Sox (V. Martinez - DET) - Matt Barnes (RHP - UConn) 20. Colorado Rockies - Tyler Anderson (LHP - Oregon) 21. Toronto Blue Jays - Tyler Beede (RHP - Lawrence Academy, Massachusetts) 22. St. Louis Cardinals - Kolten Wong (2B - Hawaii) 23. Washington Nationals (Dunn - CWS) - Alex Meyer (RHP - Kentucky) 24. Tampa Bay Rays (Crawford - BOS) - Taylor Guerrieri (RHP - Spring Valley HS, South Carolina) 25. San Diego Padres - Joe Ross (RHP - Bishop O'Dowd HS, California) 26. Boston Red Sox (Beltre - TEX) - Blake Swihart (C - V. Sue Cleveland HS, New Mexico) 27. Cincinnati Reds - Robert Stephenson (RHP - Alhambra HS, California) 28. Atlanta Braves - Sean Gilmartin (LHP - Florida St.) 29. San Francisco Giants - Joe Panik (SS - St. John's) 30. Minnesota Twins - Levi Michael (SS - North Carolina) 31. Tampa Bay Rays (R. Soriano - NYY) - Mikie Mahtook (OF - LSU) 32. Tampa Bay Rays - Jake Hager (SS - Sierra Vista HS, Nevada) 33. Texas Rangers (C. Lee - PHI) - Kevin Matthews (LHP - Richmond Hill HS, Georgia) Supplemental round is too fast to keep up
  15. So, do we have an educated final guess at Cubs top options based on likelihood? Feel free to jumble around: 1) Some Cuban Guy 2) Springer 3) Lindor 4) Baez 5) Starling 6) A. Bradley 7) Mahtook 8) Barnes 9) Guerrieri 10) Gray
  16. Much rather have Colvin playing than DeWitt, I've seen enough of him to know he's not ever going to be a valuable starter.
  17. Anyone know anything about Magallones from Providence? I know they were ranked #1 in the state for a while and as high as #17 nationally. Sending 4 pitchers D1 -- don't see that in Illinois very often. I feel like it's been a while since Providence has churned out any big time prospects. Honel was my age (2001) and Pignatiello a year older, don't remember much since them.
  18. Watching the 4-5 Illinois games on TV the past week, I can't believe Willie Argo is rated that highly. I understand it's a down year in Illinois, but he doesn't impress me as a major league potential player whatsoever. Adam Davis looks much more projectable than Argo. Parr looks like a midget.
  19. The info I saw on them was a small tidbit in the Tribune. Who knows if they're info is solid
  20. Nice to see Illinois get a win over Kansas St. last night, hopefully they can be competitive vs. CSF tonight. They played decent in the first game against them but really spiraled downwards after 1 bad call by the umps. I've seen more HBP watching college baseball this week than ever before.
  21. I'm confident Quade will NOT be back next season (Hendry either)
