  1. And that is all you would have: Ohtani and a bunch of cheap, mediocre talent. Not wanting to pay one player, no matter how good he is, all of your money is not a "Defeatist" attitude but a pragmatic one. Afterall Ohtani is still just one player on a 25/26 man roster.
  2. Good on Ohtani and LOL at the Dodgers. I never knew the Dodgers of all teams, had to overpay for any FA. Yet, here we are. But in no way did I want Ohtani at this deal.
  3. The confidently stupid will always have a place.
  4. I want Dodgers to miss out on Ohtani so that they can turn their attention to Yamamoto. Then sit back watch the out all war for Yamamoto between DODGERS/METS/YANKEES/giants.
  5. As mad as the Montreal Canadiens fans after watching their team draft a defenseman with their first pick in '23 draft.
  6. What is new? After reading what happen after I went to bed, did all hell break loose or what? I thought Morosi was better than that. Did Morosi get played?
  7. As long as it's not the Dodgers, I'm cool with it. But if it Toronto, that is one hell of a counter to the NYY getting Soto.
  8. NGL I already convinced myself the Cubs had little-to-no shot at Ohtani. So I'm glad it's coming to an end.
  9. I can see Yamamoto going to L.A. but still believe it'll be either the Giants (who is desperate for a star) or the Mets (because New York).
  10. A healthy Carlos Rodon would not hurt.
  11. I only use Ramirez as an example.
  12. That is NOT what I am saying. I'm saying, it's not the end of the world. Not everybody can get Ohtani.
  13. I think a guy like Jose Ramirez, for example, might become available. He's no Soto/Ohtani but he is a darn good player. In the absense of getting a superstar player, build a team full a good players.
  14. Yankees probably feel comfortable with this trade (should it happen) knowing they can re-sign him even though they will have to the FA dance with him.
  15. I would love to see Ohtani go back to the Angels. Dodgers would be soooooo pissed off that they got spurned by Ohtani, twice.
  16. We don't know, one way or another.
  17. Yep. "Felt" and "probably" are vague words. It gives Rogers enough wiggle room in case he is wrong.
  18. I want to see Dodgers miss out on Ohtani a second time, just to see how butthurt they get.
  19. I like Passan but this has a certain Heyman "duh" feel to it. Might be easier to say, "Yamamota is only interested in the teams with the most money to spend."
  20. You know what else would be stupid? If the GM takes a QB he is not enamored with just to appease a fan base who is starving for a star QB. I want Poles to draft Williams/Maye because he wants to, not because he has to.
