  1. I respect their consistency but it's that consistency that limits their ceiling as a franchise. They've become the NL's Rays. A good team yearly that can get the playoffs but not good enough to actually go deep in the playoffs.
  2. I was wondering what does all in mean. My all in is not the same as yours or Rcals, etc. I know there is 0% chance of Skenes getting traded but he would be part of my all in scenario. Basically what is the Cubs all in scenario?
  3. Depending on the two pitchers, the Cubs could cancel out that advantage the Brewers have.
  4. I'm just saying everybody has a different version of all in. "All in" is just too vague for me.
  5. What does "all in" look like? For me, that means getting Skenes/Bednar from the Pirates and Suarez from the Dbacks.
  6. Agreed. It seems every time the Brewers get close to the Cubs, Chicago to move back to 4 or 5 games in front. When Mil does inevitably go on a 2nd half cold spell, that is when the Cubs will put some distance between them and Mil. I do not care about tonight. Would not surprise me if the Cubs win the next two and get their lead back over 4.
  7. Beat the Cards is always a good fun. Smashing the Cards on national television is just so damn beautiful.
  8. Yeah, Alcantara feels like an off-season acquistion not a mid-season trade.
  9. It's more annoying than anything. I still think a mercy rule is preferable than position players pitching.
  10. Agreed. If a game is so far out of reach that one team is using position players to pitch, they call the game. No need for position players to pitch. So dumb.
  11. A player name Busch putting a hurting on the Cardinals is magnificent.
  12. Justin Turner sucked for NYM and Balt before taking off with L.A. and of course Aramis. There are numerous cases of players needed a change of scenery before they take off. I'm not saying to acquire him, just a semi interesting parallel to me.
  13. The last time the Cubs traded for a young, struggling Pirate 3B it turned out pretty great for the Cubs. Just saying.
  14. Sounds like the Kevin Durant trade could turn into a seven team trade. If true, then holy smokes.
  15. Most of us were very annoy with the series versus Seattle but that series was still better than the Mets getting curb stomped by the Pirates.
  16. Not just the NHL, the NBA has been pretty boring too.
  17. Marner to Vegas and 8x12 extension. Blah.
  18. Is Hayes an upgrade over Shaw? If the answer is no, then why are we discussing this? Hayes is a throw in to a larger deal type talent. If he comes with Skenes, fine, I'd take him mainly because Shaw is likely to be in that deal but if Hayes is by himself, he does not improve this team and thus the Cubs should be looking elsewhere.
  19. The way I see that is that the rest of the NLC had to play hot baseball just to stay with the steady Cubs. It would not surprise me if the Cubs division lead is back up to 5 or so by the end of July.
