  1. Sheesh, the top 7 were DBacks, Angels or Dodgers: link. Very promising words about Felix: 16 seems a bit low for Hill:
  2. And Casey McGehee has turned up on the Tomateros de Culiacan. They lost their opener to Mazatlan tonight, 10-5. Casey started at third base and batted 6th: box score. 1/3, 2B (1), RBI (1), BB, K, E (1, throw)
  3. Frankly, it seems a bit early for either KC or Tampa to fall in love with a specific player. They might favor one, but there's a lot of time for a lot of stuff to happen.
  4. Mesa wins 3-0, box 2B E. Patterson 1/4, R, bunt single 1B S. Moore 1/1, 2B (1), RBI (1) C J. Fox 0/1, K RP L. Holdzkom 1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 2 K/0 BB, 1 GO-0 FO, 8 pitches (7 strikes) RP C. Rapada 0.2 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 K/1 BB, 0 GO-0 FO, 11 pitches (4 strikes) Dodgers' prospect Chin Lung Ho left with a wrist injury after being hit by a pitch.
  5. Me too, but I'm afraid of Piniella.

  7. I agree, soccer10k.
  8. No, there's quite the Tiger contingent in here. But Geech, soccer10k, Brian and I are going for the A's. C'mon, Loiza.
  9. He won't be throwing 100 with ease in a few years. But there's this guy: http://www.newsobserver.com/media/2006/10/10/16/brackman.embedded.jpeg He topped out at 101 earlier this summer...and he's 6'10".
  10. They did, in 2001: http://www.fanforhire.com/images/mprior.jpg
  11. He had basically two different seasons last year. The first few months, he was struggling to hit .200, his power was down and he couldn't take a walk to safe his life. Then, his power went through the roof, he started hitting in the .300s (there was a question of how sustainable that BA was since his BABIP was ridiculous), still wasn't walking all that much but had started taking more pitches and going deeper into ABs. He credited his change to a change in his swing. He still has major issues with breaking balls and has poor plate discipline. He also has prodigous power. I (and others) don't think he'll make succeed in the big leagues, as he has struggled to make adjustments at A-ball and the pitchers get smarter at AA and AAA and throw better breaking balls. Here's an interesting threadfrom earlier in the season on Harvey (Premium), around the time he caught fire. He'll probably start next year at AA Tennessee, he's probably somewhere in the 8-15 range in terms of top Cub prospects (in a weak farm system).
  12. $6 for a ticket to see some of the best prospects in the game. Not bad. I'm envious!!
  13. I think an NC is possible, but 07-08 looks even better for UCLA, with Love and Stanback coming in. <3 Ben Howland.
  14. Iowa, huh?

  16. Sorry, I wasn't alive in 1969...the last time the Mets cost the Cubs anything. 2004? Victor Diaz...
  17. What a strange twist. How sad. :( RIP.
  18. There ya go. Now FX can have some old X-Files reruns. :)
