  1. Santo was mentioning the same exact thing... How low did he go?
  2. He will. Was Kinkade's injury really that bad? Poor guy. :(
  3. What kind of unreasonable expectations are you talking about? I think there's a good chance that Prior as we knew him is gone. He threw 83-84 mph last game and it sounds like people were hoping he'd be back into the 90s and have good control again. It's not going to happen in a day, might never happen, but this game doesn't prove that he's done. Yeah. He improved, he introduced his curve in-game and his FB had better movement and velocity. Location still a worry. I can't say he's never going to be the same after 4 ST innings, especially when he's shown the improvement from the first appearance to the next.
  4. Better movement on the FB too. Now he just needs the command. I expect his 4-seamer will be in the low 90s by the end of ST.
  5. Sounds like most of you had unreasonable expectations of Prior after his previous start.
  6. And better movement on his pitches. His curve will take longer to come back and I think he can top out a little higher after an inning in the game.
  7. You know, it'd be really cool if Illinois could score more than a point per minute. EDIT: Illinois is on pace to score 34 points.
  8. I'd be really impressed if the location on his curve came back that quickly!!
  9. Only 2nd week into ST, and with a long layoff I think it is to be expected. Plus this is the first time he has thrown his curve in a game.
  10. That's not surprising at all since he's throwing something besides the FB and can actually fool the hitters. But it sounds like he has good movement and upped the velo on his FB.
  11. Must be a conspiracy by the Cubs if one or two radar readings pick up the bat.
  12. He's no Lorenzo Mata.
  13. That just looks weird. No kidding.
  14. They said Lilly for 3 and Prior for 2. Huh, interesting. Cubs.com had said earlier that Prior was supposed to go 3.
  15. I know Prior is scheduled to go 3, is Lilly supposed to too?
  16. Dude, Meche was a much sounder signing.
  17. It was obviously meant as a joke, let's drop it, folks.
  18. Despite rumors that the Pac-10 Tournament might split its locations between LA and another venue (San Jose was the most popular choice, but Anaheim, Portland and Seattle were under consideration too), the tournament will remain at Staples for the next 5 years (Lute Olsen and Oregon coach Ernie Kent are not too pleased).
  19. Rocky Cherry seems to be giving him a run for his money at the moment... Certainly; it'd be nice if Wuertz got healthy too - he has a better track record than Cotts and would, imo, be better than Cotts this season. Who is the long reliever in that scenario? Guzman? I honestly think long relievers are a bit overrated, especially if it means an inferior pitcher makes the team. I think that's why Cotts has a spot no matter what.
