  2. They're planning on going over their international cap this year so forfeiting their 2017 international signings isn't too big a penalty.
  3. obviously not an exclusive list. you're telling me KB wouldn't get it done? They have Chase Headley so they're pretty set at third, thank you very much.
  4. [tweet]https://twitter.com/billazbbphotog/status/755254330349932544[/tweet] Pretty excited that De La Cruz is already up in the NWL after just one start in the AZL. I figured he'd be in Arizona for a few starts. Hopefully just a few starts before he's in the MWL.

  10. [tweet] [/tweet] The pitcher was on deck and Starling Marte ended up hitting the game-winning HR in that at bat in the 18th.
  11. Eloy with a minor leg injury. Should be back tomorrow.
  12. Box Scores: Iowa lost 6-2 Box Score Tennessee won 6-4 Box Score Myrtle Beach lost 7-2 Box Score South Bend won 8-5 Box Score Eugene won 7-6 Box Score The AZL Cubs, DSL Cubs 1 and DSL Cubs 2 had the day off.
  13. Arizona Phil had him 88-92 during Extended ST but with good command.
  14. Was this guy a notable signing? The name sounds familiarish, but it could be from my very loose following of the DSL/VSL the past few years. They seem to handle him with kitten gloves; seems to be pulled from games an awful lot, followed by the next few games off. Sounds like the Soler comparisons might extend to his health. Moreno was the highest rated pitcher they signed during the 2013 7/2 period. He had TJ surgery the next season. That's a leap on Eloy's health. On Erling, he was more highly rated than Jefferson Mejia only because Mejia wasn't rated by BA because they don't rate players who have been eligible in previous free agency periods. That said, Mejia got $850k to Moreno's $800k. Obviously agree with you on the Eloy nonsense.
  15. 3rd in the NL in ERA behind Kershaw and Bumgarner.
  16. Pedro Araujo gave up his second earned run of the season.

  19. That BA piece also said Underwood's most recent injury is forearm soreness.
  20. Weird. BA switched Torres back to #1.
  21. To be honest, only one of the 6-10 guys is in my top ten and Cease might fall out depending on the severity of the injury. Heck, Underwood isn't even in my top 20. I think some of this is what Kyle refers to as not getting enough new information on prospects midseason. I'm sure this list will be vastly different and more in line with what we expect after the season. And just an FYI, De La Cruz debuted earlier this week.
  22. BA's midseason Cubs top 10: 1. Ian Happ 2. Gleyber Torres 3. Eloy Jimenez 4. Mark Zagunis 5. Jeimer Candelario 6. Oscar De La Cruz 7. Dylan Cease 8. Trevor Clifton 9. Duane Underwood Jr 10. Eddy Martinez Rising: Rob Zastryzny and Dan Vogelbach Falling: Billy McKinney and Pierce Johnson Graduating: Willson Contreras and Albert Almora Injured: Oscar De La Cruz and Ryan Williams
