  1. Cabrera does have a more checkered injury history but that's likely baked into his trade value. He's got 3 years left, I assume he'll blow out and miss 1 of them. But that's what's nice about him having 3 more years under contract.
  2. I'd say Gleyber always had the size and athleticism to dream of being a top 10 prospect (and major league shortstop, initially at least) that Rojas lacks.
  3. Sorry - I meant I'm guessing someone the Cubs picked last summer is in the trade.
  4. Eric Patterson POTY award erasure.
  5. I think a 2025 draft pick might be in the trade.
  6. Medicals take so long during the offseason. Especially if a player lives outside the country, probably even tougher if any player is Venezuelan (not sure there are any Venezuelans in the trade).
  7. Because the ask in July was Caissie and Wiggins.
  8. Cerami is great. Just want to add Greg Z had it yesterday too, while on a cruise ship.
  9. Sounds like it’s going to be Caissie, not Mo (nor Shaw). Not sure who else.
  10. BA posted their top 50 anticipated IFA bonuses. The Cubs are linked to the 37th highest bonus, Dominican SS Yadier Muñoz. He'll probably get a bonus around $1 million based on his ranking. Francys Romero had a top 50 IFA prospects and the Cubs had one player, ranked 30th: Cuban SS Jaims Martínez (who initially was going to sign with the Cubs 2025 IFA class but got pushed out). Jaims is anticipated to get $900k. Romero also said the Cubs are linked to quite a few other 6-figure bonus types. They normally sign 2 or 3 players to 7-figure bonuses that take up a majority of their pool space each year so this might be a shift in strategy.
  11. Looks like Ciriacao did sign before the 12/15/25 deadline.:

  15. The guys I’d eye for the Cubs are RHP Blake Burkhalter (Braves) or RHP José Rodríguez (Dodgers). Both would be relievers.
  16. Little change from 2025 to 2026 in the projected Cubs draft pool: Jed should trade for a comp pick!
  17. Joe Doyle mock: Something has gone wrong if Curiel is available at 23 imo.
