  1. In the top fo the 9th, Roger Evenson comes in with one out and the go-ahead run at first and throws 6 straight cutters to get 2 Ks and get Boise out of the jam. The Boise announcer is going nuts, "DOES EVENSON GO SIX IN A ROW WITH THE PITCH THAT MADE MARIANO RIVERA FAMOUS? HE DOES AND GETS THE STRIKEOUT! CUTTER CUTTER CUTTER CUTTER CUTTER CUTTER!!" To the bottom of the 9th, tied at 8.
  2. Chicago NL Chicago AL Los Angeles NL Also teams like Seattle (a lot of young SS talent, but all unproven), Philly (if they can get rid of Rollins), St. Louis (not sure of Eck's situation), Washington (if they admit Guzman was a monumental mistake), and Florida's a darkhorse for everyone. You think the Dodgers will be interested in Furcal with Izturis and Robles?
  3. Wow, Aardsma. Stretch time in Boise, still tied at 8.
  4. Jose Ortiz struggling on the mound here for Boise and his night is done. Ryan Chambers will be coming in now. Ortiz gave up one run in the 6th on a Mark Reed passed ball. It's 8-7, Boise, still in the top of the 6th. Chambers surrenders a game-tying single.
  5. I hope not. He hasn't gotten that many innings at CF in the minors and he really can't handle it day in, day out. The Cubs OF defense would suffer.
  6. Jose Rios with a 2-RBI single giving Boise the 7-6 lead and Taylor will get a no-decision. Now Davey Gregg with an RBI-double, it's 8-6 Boise. Mark Reed strikes out to end the inning.
  7. Scott Taylor had a rough first outing at Boise, giving up 5 in the first before recovering for two more scoreless innings. His final line is: 3 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 2/2. Haha, Scott's girlfriend's younger sister (11-years old) just e-mailed the booth saying, "it was cool to watch Scott pitch." Tri-City leads it 6-5 in the 5th.
  8. I almost got to go to tonight's game, but my friend's brother was able to get out of his prior engagement and is going instead of me. :(
  9. Thanks, Nathan. It's nice to see Blackford will get a start before the season is over...
  10. Wow, how idiotic.
  11. Well, Hermida was drafted by the Marlins out of HS.
  12. Probable Pitching Matchups: Iowa: RHP Bobby Brownlie (6-6, 4.70 ERA) @ RHP Danny Tamayo (8-8, 5.41 ERA) West Tenn: LHP Renyel Pinto (10-3, 2.44 ERA) @ RHP Sean Tracey (13-6, 4.22 ERA) Daytona: LHP Yorkin Ferreras (3-4, 5.07 ERA) @ RHP Tim Dillard (11-10, 2.56 ERA) Peoria: RHP Grant Johnson (3-7, 3.84 ERA) @ LHP Kyle Aselton (5-2, 2.65 ERA) Boise: RHP Scott Taylor (Mesa: 0-3, 6.89 ERA, 15.2 IP, 13 K, 7 BB) vs. RHP Buzz Vargas (3-4, 4.13 ERA) Cubs 5th round pick Scott Taylor makes his Boise debut. Buzz Vargas is an awesome name.
  13. Well, Jim Hendry thinks he's ML-ready. I bet Oneri does too. Can you explain why you don't want him in the ML next year? Because he's not ready? As another poster pointed out already, he has worse plate discipline than Corey had at AA. He only has a half season at AA or higher, he'd get eaten up by big league pitchers. Sing should be considered.
  14. Scott will the start on Wednesday, Mark on Friday.
  15. I thought there was some discussion about how if it were a wall banger, it would be off the wall, not over it. :-s That's my thinking.
  16. How did Berg look? What pitches does he throw?
  17. But Vlad and Chone and KRod and Lackey! And I don't care what anyone else says, I call them Anaheim. I feel the need to root for one of my local teams, and I hate the Dodgers, and the Angels rarely play the Cubs, so I feel I can root for them. vlad is cool, if not terrifying. lackey is too ugly to be cool. krod needs to lose his glasses. chone needs to learn to spell and is crazily overrated, though not as much as he would be if he were slow and white. Chone is cool because of his name. And don't you mean his parents need to learn to spell?

  19. I like the Angels and the A's. I'm so conflicted when it comes to these series. Who should I root for?
  20. No. Is there an emoticon that properly expresses the fact that Hendry is giving me daily migraines? Dear Lord is there are reason what so ever to put a 33 year old journey man 3B on the 40 man roster? With all the potential Rule 5 roster moves this off season why add McClain when its gonna pose a problem in three months? Cause they'll just take him off of it. No big deal. Just like they did with Calvin Murray last year.
  21. 61.80 ERA - though I guess that last R was probably unearned. In that case, it's 57.94.
