  1. I don't get the zing. Admittedly my brain is fried at the end of a long week. This post is endorsed by SpongeWorthy. Brought to you by our sponsors at Tapatalk.

  3. I'm trying to remember when I was a salary cap genius. Remind me. The sig as an excuse for my typos and lazy grammar when im on my phone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. The Bears need the help at DT. Melton, Paea, and Toeina is it on the roster (Jordan Miller from practice squad also around). If I was a betting man though, I'd say WR and OL are the most likely picks tonight. Paea and Melton should be the starters. You can get depth later on or get a DT who is cut later on. Not against taking one if he's the best player available, but this team has too many holes to lock yourself into taking one position no matter what. I don't think most people are for locking into a position. At least not when you have several with holes. Its just likely you'll find a nice DT at 50. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. The thing is, theres likely to be some good DT around at 50, but may drop off soon after that. WR should stay strong through the fourth. OL is likely weak overall. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Get your round 2&3 predictions out: Brandon Thompson, DT, Clemson. He'll man the nose tackle with Toenia, allowing Paea to focus on 3 tech. A nice replacement to Adams and rounds out a D-Line unit that rotates frequently and needs fresh bodies. Ryan Broyles, WR, Oklahoma. Some injury concern, but good speed (though not a burner, knows how to get open) and good production. He can push Hester and Weems immediately in the slot and perhaps develop into the guy across from Marshall long term. Finding a starter at WR is typically hit or miss so people should prepare for Bennett to line up across Marshall. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. You gotta take Floyd if he's there. For the Bears and their needs, he has to be a top 5 player on their board (obviously you're excluding the qbs) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. When you imagine the scenarios leading to Kuechly being there, a run on pass rushers is one of them. Theres a chance there wouldn't be a DT or DE there thats a starter. The prospects are pretty flat from 15-50. I wouldn't put Kuechly in that group. So if he falls he's a steal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Pats are the type of team with a lockerroom to take it on. Not sure they'll take him with a first, but definitely with a second, perhaps trading down from 27 to the 40-45 range. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. That may be a bad sign that they're not buying his rehabilitation. Or it could just be concern over his past without real regard to whether he's fixed or not. If he falls enough, he has the potential to be a real steal. While hes stayed out of trouble, the stuff I've read says he's nearly always high. Like cheech and chong. I guess thats enough to scare at least some teams away. On abilty theres many who say hes better than Claiborne, so a team with a strong veteran lockerrom will risk it. 11. I've read some teams have removed Jenkins completely from their draft board. It only takes one team for him to still be a first rounder, although presumably, most GMs will hear that talk and at least think about letting him drop and picking him up later.
  12. Ah, knew I must have been missing him. Still can't see them trading up, but I suppose you never know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Not if Kuechly is there at 19. And if we trade down, David would make sense in the bottom 20's, despite being a slight reach. Thats also supposing there isn't also an equally talented player at a position of greater need, but I wouldm't be upset with a LB if the right circumstances happen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk we're set up to win right away, kuechly doesn't help us do that. you draft immediate impact players right away and then projects later on. i don't and have never believed in drafting the best player available, regardless of position. it may be that you have a more talented and seasoned alternative ahead of them on the depth chart. if kuechly falls, you look to trade down, if you can't you draft a pass rusher. It all depends. Is there a DE available who will step in right away with an impact or be an improvement over someone we have? Because Kuechly is an immediate improvement over Roach, not to mention a long term replacement to Urlacher. And what DE are you drafting? If its Perry, i have to say a very similar DE in Curry is most likely going to be available at 50, but neither one will necessarily be an immediate upgrade to Idonije. Though with the way we rotate our DL, a third DE will see more time than a third OLB. Also when looking at this class, DE is deeper than LB when you look at 4-3 backers. You could find a develpment DE who fills in immediately as a situational rusher at first. Someone like Irvin in the third (though he has some red flags, 3rd is a good place to risk those). As far as David goes, I mentioned him just because he's such a perfect scheme fit. Although perhaps a new GM isn't going to worry too much about scheme when the coach he has isn't the one he hired. 14. I really cant see Pittsburg trading up with their lack of depth, especially with a perfrct fit for their d in Hightower will likely be at 24(though looks like you over looked him). If you're looking for a candidate to move up, Denver and Houston are much better bets IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. Trading down because of position depth seems like overthinking things, unless they simply don't have Floyd graded as a top 15 pick. If he's there and u have him graded as a 10-15 pick, you make the pick unless you're just overwhelmed with an offer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I'm going back and forth between the two Boise State DE's here. Crawford compares to Purnell McGee who is set to see an increased workload with Redding departing. I'm gonna go with Billy Winn though as he's the better player and just as good of a fit at DE. He'll provide nice depth. Ravens select Billy Winn, DE, Boise State. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Apparently this guy dated a young Michael Irvin relative: I guess not bad depth. Better than trying to find some undrafted free agent to fill the spot. Hope he can contribute on special teams. Theres not many spots Emery hasn't addressed with depth. Contrast that to last year where we were pretty much forced to keep UDFA. We're getting a DL within the first two picks, no doubt about it. Maybe even both if the value lines up. Everything else is gonna be based on value I think, because while we have some depth all around, we could use a difference maker in any spot. 19. i swear, it feels like it's been moved back like 3 times. for some reason , i thought it was this weekend. It used to always be around the third week of April, because it always fell near my birthday as a kid. Lately its been the 4th week of April. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. If we're known as cheap because we don't overpay for guys on the wrong side of 30 coming off serious injuries I'm okay with that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Well the Ravens tend to draft BPA, and their biggest hole was already filled in Round 1. I'll go with RB, David Wilson from Virginia Tech. He could be a borderline first round talent. Yea, Ray Rice is probably their best player- definitely their best offensive player- but he's playing under a franchise tag and RBs don't last forever. Wilson should provide a solid backup and insurance policy for the Ravens. (I also thought about a couple defensive players here. The Ravens do need some long term replacements and some additional depth on defense, but nothing glaring enough to forgo BPA) I pm'd Raisin.
  22. What made you come around? That he showed better speed at his pro day? DE and WR are both needs, but I also think there will be chances in later rounds to fill both spots. If Wright or Floyd is there you take them because their also BPA, but I think we could find ourselves in a strong position to trade down and add value, maybe pick up an additional pick in the top 75ish range. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I think DT or OL makes sense for the Rams. I think the value at DT is better here though. Lets keep it moving either way though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. If theres interest we could also restart round one about a week prior to see if anything changes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Glad I checked before I went to bed. with pick 29 Ravens select: Peter Konz, C/G, Wisconsin http://isportsweb.com/wp-content/uploads//2011/11/Peter-Konz2.jpg Comments: While there are a few defensive players Baltimore may have on their radar, they're all gone in this draft. Still Konz is a nice consolation prize, and this pick is becoming common around mock drafts around the net. He can step in immediately to help fill the void left by Grubbs at G and is a long term replacement for Birk. pm'd Raisin for the 49ers. After the 49er's its: 31. Patriots (Splinter) 32. Giants (jersey) R2.1. Rams (Snayke)
