Ugh, stupid need obsession ignoring value. To grab a guy that appears to have fallen? I'm not fretting over a 5th next year. You can always recoup that pick. Not when you've shown zero ability to judge value of draft picks. Good teams trade down and stockpile. Trading down doesn't make you good. Cleveland trades down a lot. Picking good players makes you good. Now, you can't consistently lose picks either like 2nd rounders for Gaines Adams, but trading down isn't good as some rule of thumb, it's all circumstantial.

Yeesh, two 5th's for a 4th and 7th. Don't really like that. I do like the pick though.

After they grab a S, and maybe a LB, they won't be drafting so much for current needs anyways, so a WR would be fine if the value is right.

Man, if that isn't a gross oversimplification of the position and it's relation in the draft. Yes good and decent backs are found throughout the draft and UDFA, but that hardly means a decent one is always sitting there. You're also looking at RB saying there is no nuance as if their only job is to run the ball. Yes the current NFL has marginalized the RB position a bit, but you want a guy who can do the blocking and receiving particularly because how the RB role has changed. So it's not just finding a guy with a little second level speed and handing him the ball occasionally. I'd put it at a need for the Bears. It's not a absolute need, but depending how the board shakes out could be a wise investment, especially a few who may contribute in the return game.

Slaves to need i think it's ok when the team can contend for a superbowl by addressing said needs. i agree that long term i always want the best value but this team has got a legitimate window. I hope they aren't viewing this as a window. As in, its the NFL, so as long as you have a good coach and a good QB, there is no such thing as a window? Or like the Bears aren't a legitimate SB threat?

I want an offensive skill player now because they're not particularly deep there. Yes. I can't stop stop thinking about how lucky we were last year with injuries, despite having Jay miss so much time. We basically ran with a 13 man offensive unit- occasionally subbing in a 3rd WR or a OL as an eligible receiver. Crazy.

Nate Collins and David Bass. Sounds like a set 10 man rotation. Edit- forgot about Washington too. I was pretty excited about the potential with that pick last year, but it can't be a good sign he never could get on the field. I'm sure he's gone.

Nicely have built up that DLine. Get Will to play at his lower/quicker weight.

Of offensive guys, Martavis Bryant seems like an Emery type receiver. I'm sure it will be someone random though, and not one of the "best avaiable"

Oh and Nix if he continues to drop. Also I think Pierre Desir might have had a visit. At 3, I wouldn't mine Terrence Brooks now. Baushad Breeland, Kieth McGill, also look good if they last. I know this is a deep offensive draft, but still liking defensive names as of now.

I definitely wouldn't mind some offense at this point, though with the RB run going on not sure this will be where we grab a RB. But we can't really complain if he goes D again. Going by known visits: Will Sutton, DT (more a 3-Tech so wouldn't even be doubling up) Gabe Ikard, C Zach Fulton, OG Marqueston Huff, S The latter three are more 4th round prospects but that doesn't necessarily mean much.

Tie breaker thing. Chicago was one of 6-8 teams at 8-8. They got the first pick in Rd 1 and then shuffle through.

And so was Shea McClellin McClellin wasn't a reach. He was a late riser but plenty of guys had him in that range by draft time, just for a 3-4 team.

Yea I'm not worried about Kiper McShay rankings. Does seem like they could have dropped down but there hasn't been much action here so if there's nothing there you can't help it.
