Interesting. Guess they didn't like his hands at WR. It makes sense based on his college career. His 40 is a little slow, but that would be the same as a receiver. As a back, he'll still need to catch the ball to make it.

We signed some CFL guy and Mannelly I think is still deciding on his future. So I don't think we'll draft one if you're asking that.

So this guy has a big leg it sounds like but his negatives: Inconsistent accuracy on coffin corner attempts. Struggles with hang time consistency, especially on shorter directional attempts. Approach is somewhat slow and deliberate, giving defense an opportunity for blocks. Forget that he's a P, I don't think he's gonna be a very good one. Bad pick.

I don't mind Fales I'm just not sure if I want 3 QBs on the roster, and I'm guessing he wouldn't be the only backup, so does he clear waivers so we can stash on the PS?

So what's the deal with the dual thing again? Ones more approach based while the other is more mechanics?

Yea I know Enemy kind of shot down a QB late, but Mettenberger if there in the 6th would have to be considered. Though if we're going with workouts, could be Boyd. Disclaimer out at Home Depot so if Boyd somehow got picked I missed it.

Ugh, stupid need obsession ignoring value. To grab a guy that appears to have fallen? I'm not fretting over a 5th next year. You can always recoup that pick. Not when you've shown zero ability to judge value of draft picks. Good teams trade down and stockpile. Trading down doesn't make you good. Cleveland trades down a lot. Picking good players makes you good. Now, you can't consistently lose picks either like 2nd rounders for Gaines Adams, but trading down isn't good as some rule of thumb, it's all circumstantial.

Yeesh, two 5th's for a 4th and 7th. Don't really like that. I do like the pick though.

Not loving the pick. If he had lasted to 5, would have looked a lot better. Would have like several of the DB there.

After they grab a S, and maybe a LB, they won't be drafting so much for current needs anyways, so a WR would be fine if the value is right.

Man, if that isn't a gross oversimplification of the position and it's relation in the draft. Yes good and decent backs are found throughout the draft and UDFA, but that hardly means a decent one is always sitting there. You're also looking at RB saying there is no nuance as if their only job is to run the ball. Yes the current NFL has marginalized the RB position a bit, but you want a guy who can do the blocking and receiving particularly because how the RB role has changed. So it's not just finding a guy with a little second level speed and handing him the ball occasionally. I'd put it at a need for the Bears. It's not a absolute need, but depending how the board shakes out could be a wise investment, especially a few who may contribute in the return game.
