  1. Dooon't care. Fyi- yesterday's game was supposed to be his first game in the booth. I that Burkhardt/Davis ended up a good team though.
  2. I think that was just John Lynch who thought that. Seriously, who could have sen that and not thought it was a QB coming off the board.
  3. Possibly. Has there been any talk the Browns attempted to do so? Also: it's the Browns. And wasn't there a ton of talk that you had a bunch of people throughout the league wondering what the hell the Bears were doing? Again, Trubisky could very well end up being a great pick; it's just kinda goofy it's being spun as this move that required all kinds of brilliant strategy and trading up. You're right; nobody is going to know for sure, but the idea that Pace was just competing with himself seems to at least have as much weight as this idea he skillfully swooped in and was pulling the wool over everyone's eyes playing the long game and snatched away a pick the Bears weren't going to have if they hadn't traded up. Like he doesn't have to be Super GM for this pick to work out. Agreed with the bolded. The other solid rumor was that the Titans were receiving a lot of calls at 5, and those call stopped as soon as Trubisky was picked. Plus Pace obviously knew anyone calling for three. Very possibly no one thought they had to jump the Bears, but I wouldn't necessarily call it needless given all circumstances.
  4. I'm already spoiled by his accuracy because my first thought was that he had at least 3 overthrows! Stumble aside even, does he look a little uncomfortable under center still. Like he has a little hitch receiving the snap? If I recall from the first two games, they gave him a really high proportion of shotgun reads. Today was probably the most under center snaps he got right?
  5. I really don't buy that it was primarily a smoke screen, even if that worked as a plus in the end.
  6. Uh, no? And I hate him but this is just a really strange statement. Nothing baffling or short sighted about it. That much money for a QB who sucks and when you were going to draft a QB anyways is baffling and shortsighted. They couldn't have been sure they'd get Trubisky at that point. I guess you can sit there and debate the cost of Glennon as a hedge v someone like Hoyer, but would have been silly not to hedge, given there were no cap concerns.
  7. I love JD, too. We have the best broadcasting team in baseball, probably in all of sports. They should stick together for another 50 years if possible. But Len has a chance to be the next Brickhouse/Scully. Maybe JD could be the first legendary color guy? Seems like a long shot though. JD has like 5 percent meatball in him (but i have to imagine every former MLB player does to that degree, at least, most more). But, to support your point, yes, I'd argue best booth in sports hands down.Let's keep this rhetoric going. No meatball would be boring.
  8. That's how he manages games sometimes, so this checks out actually.
  9. One guy that can throw, but won't play. And garbage receivers. we'll see if he'll play, it's looking more and more like he'll play. Fox isn't going to sit him if he's the guy that will save his job. and the TE's are a strength now, and I wouldn't say their receivers are garbage. Meredith is good and White is an unknown. They have several slot guys and a dude like Tanner Gentry that could actually contribute. There are guys to throw to. Their line is still a strength both passing and rushing. TEs a strength? Maybe, but not carry the pass game strength.
  10. Kadeem Carey out 6 weeks with wrist surgery. Could help Langfords odds of making the roster (if he can get healthy himself). If he can't they perhaps will be on the lookout for a late roster cut at RB.
  11. Trying to figure out who is who on this list. Kyle Long Whitehair Sitton? Leno Massie? that's basically how i had it, though referring to kyle long as young (or even elite anymore) seems kind of hollow. Okay, he's aging. And Sitton is already aged. As far as the elite tag. Well yea, it's been negated because of health, which is why I mentioned it.
  12. if you are great elsewhere, sure, competence at LT is fine. But you still need to be great elsewhere, and that remains questionable for the Bears, even with the solid interior line that is still banged up. 1 young elite OL locked up (and banged up) 1 young very good OL on rookie deal 1 very good aging OL 1 above average young OL locked up 1 average young OL on short deal with little guaranteed While it shouldn't inspire any complacency for the unit, I'll take it.
  13. Why would they need leverage, they had a 25 year old 4x All Star.
  14. I'm certain there's been more bananas trades, but this is definitely the biggest in a long while. Timing is probably the most unique aspect of a deal this big though.
  15. Tarik Cohen is fun.
  16. I read somewhere that he has some sort of mechanical issue that's causing him to suck. Maybe the Bears think they have a way to fix it? That's a pretty fall far for Aguayo. (No. 59 pick a year ago) I certainly am happy to see some Barth competition, though they are picking up quite a bit of contract commitment for a camp competition.
  17. I actually think the black jerseys (not the shirts that they've switched to the last couple of years) were the best in the league. And if they ever brought back the black jerseys with the red pinstripes, the rest of the league can forget about it. nah. the pinstripe ones are cool and are a nice change of pace, but the reds win easily. Basically you can't go wrong between red, whites, or black pinstripes. They should just rotate those three between home games, with the red Chicago script as an occasional alternate.
  18. they don't think he's worth what he's owed in the final year of his contract. They've questioned his commitment coming back from injury and basically are just looking for an opportunity to cut him. Able players are cut all the time if they either don't fit a system or rub coaches the wrong way. yeah, that's basically what i was asking...if it's a performance thing or just a guy the coaches don't like It's a combo of things. Talent and fit, certainly. From a cap standpoint, when would come time to keep Fuller next spring, he'll be an UFA. His competition are guys like Callahan and LeBlanc who will likely qualify as RFA (2018, 2019 respectively). Based on the output and current development track of the competing young guys, they are disincentives from putting that development into a first rounder entering his final year (all else being equal). So there is some control consideration.
  19. Is a delay of game penalty hypocritical when you spend 5 minutes discussing it?
  20. OTOH his face looks even more like a Madden create a player on tv than in pictures.
  21. If he sucks after like 2-3 games Mitch should just start. Sanchez 4 tank commander
  22. Shoulda kept Cutler
  23. I maintain it's a nothing issue. Fans aren't tuning out because of long 12 inning games, but because of long 9 inning games. The extra inning thing seems to be more of a management issue in an era where pitches are tracked more closely and teams worry about managing their staffs with extra innings, especially long marathon 12+ games. So offer some type of roster flexibility to address that concern and focus the pace efforts on the other 9 innings.
  24. Eww. I maintain this is mostly a roster-rule issue which can be changed with little to no effect to the game rules.
  25. It doesn't sound like it will be standard, in fact someone on Realgm said every team to announce so far has kept white for home, but it doesn't sound standardized at all, so teams can even switch throughout the season. Will be interesting to see the alternates. Also will the Bulls be getting a corporate sponsor on their jerseys?
