    Uh. No. Here's a doom boner scenario though. With a one game WC lead going into week 17, Minn (8-6-1) needs a win to clinch the final WC spot over GB (7-7-1). Bears take care of business and whoop Minn, eliminating the Vikings and setting a stage for CHI-GB Wildcard game. Aaron embarrasses us and the Bears spiral into an extended 6 year losing record drought and never best Rodgers again. And yes I created this doom boner scenario on the ESPN playoff machine.

    Loss vs LA in the regular season and then pay back and win on the road in the playoffs, come on man! Then Pace beats his old team, and then Nagy wins against his mentor. I make Super Bowl baby.

    The NFC East could easily be a 9 win team, though it's also looking much more likely that a 9 win team will be a WC team

    I clicked on "Page 43" of the thread hoping for an update... and I get this. What fresh hell did I stumble into? ETA: Is it safe to go back a page and find out? Or should I just let it go? The past like 5 pages have been the most exciting of the off-season, but if you want Bryce News..

    No horsefeathers? I work there, but I've never met anyone from there... As in nobody ever knows where the horsefeathers it is. I think the town is around 6,000 people in one square mile with probably 20-30% of that square mile industrial/commerical. So yea, there's probably more people who have worked there than lived there in any given year. Also I found out that I currently live in Sammy Sofas hometown.

    disclaimer: i'm clueless when it comes to advanced football stats. how long has aikman efficiency ratings been a thing and what does it have to do with troy aikman? It's been around for about a decade at least. Aikman supplied the key metrics he thought were most important and the nerds crunched the numbers into a single digestible rating.

    So the legend goes, Giordanos is taken from some grandmothers recipe for Easter pie, which means NYers can stop calling their slices "pie" and then we'll stop referencing ours as pizza. Also Giordanos serves a stuffed pizza technically whereas Malnatis serves a deep dish, with some minor technical differences I guess? So they can both claim respective #1 status in their fields.

    Whenever out of towers came in mostly. Maybe once a year outside of that if we just randomly got a craving for it. If we're talking thin crust Giordanos still > Malnatis, but thin Chicago is were the local joints really shine (not sure I've ever ordered thin crust from the chain places unless also ordering deep dish too)

    Well there are likely replacements who could hit higher than 72%, maybe even as well as league average (~84% on FG and 95% on PAT). You know who else probably will? Cody Parkey (84% and 95.8% career averages). Great. He SHOULD be league average. Instead, he’s currently well below it. I look forward to him hitting his next 15 in a row. And Mitch Trubisky should be able to have a passer rating above 69 like he did a couple weeks, and hey he had one of 140+ yesterday. I know we want to think of kickers performance as more dependable, and maybe there usually is less variance. But sometimes maybe there isn't less variance. :dontknow:

Cody Parkey (84% and 95.8% career averages). The replacements would be able to do it at a much lower salary than Captain Upright. Sunk cost right now.

    Honestly, those numbers are better than I thought. But he's missed 5 out of 18 FG's now, missing 2 XP's notwithstanding. That just isn't acceptable especially when it appears he doesn't want to get to know his home field because of "traffic". He will now, obviously. And none of my criticism had anything to do with his "manliness". It can be entirely unacceptable and also our best option at this point.

    couldn't the cubs just say they felt like he needed time outside the spotlight to get back to playing "normal" baseball and stuff? I mean that would fly i would imagine all that said i really hope he's not a part of the organization next year Either way, I don't think that's really a solution for the Cubs (which I'm fine with-they don't need an easy "out", they can always just cut him). But hypothetically in that scenario Russell is still showing up in ST and the Cubs are still dealing with the PR side of it all. Either bring him back and deal with the PR disaster, or cut the dead weight (either by actually cutting him or selling him off for anything - could be bonus pool money or cash considerations even) as soon as you can--like while the calendar still reads 2018.

    Lombardi isn't totally wrong on the Bears though. They really haven't beaten a good team yet. Yea but to be fair there are only like 3 good teams in the NFL.

    Yea, and I don't think it even took that much hindsight benefit to say some of those deals were bad as they were handed out.
