    Yeah, my thinking as well which is why I had the 2022 conditional pick in there. The Eagles don't have any leverage in a Wentz trade. He was bad this year and will cost them 35Mil to be a disgruntled backup, and they can't cut him. Maybe there's enough competition for him (Colts, Niners) to where they can get a 2nd day 2021 pick, and if that's the case....more power to them. Yea if the Colts don't bring back Rivers they make tons of sense as a team that would target Wentz. More than enough cap space to take him on. They have his former OC as HC.

    I get the Wentz thing, but the Bears just aren't one of the teams with the cap space where they should be taking it on. Yes, they can make it work, but they shouldn't IMO. Plus I'm not really sure they should even have to give up picks. Or it better be a pick swap at worst, so they aren't creating a pick defecit for a team in need of some draft infusion and cheap rookie production.

    Even taking that lateral step in should be enough. Also as reiterated, you have a lead blocker.

    Anyways, yes I'd agree there is such a thing as just a read option, regardless of if that play was one or not. But RPO probably gets used as short hand for both.

    Well they don't have much of a choice with Foles, they're at least stuck with his contract, unless they can trade him. So I tend to think they need to run with 3 QBs next year. A vet to compete with Foles, and a rookie who likely won't be ready (and depending where they draft said QB may not be a serious starting prospect, but I do think they gotta draft one somewhere). I think the WR franchise is gonna be over 20m. Robinson is awesome, but with their cap room I just don't see it as the right call. Granted I'm at a point where I don't see the point in agressively trying to compete for 2021 and using it as a reset year. While I wouldn't go all out tank, I'd rather fill out the WR depth with a couple vets and see what Mooney does as the number 1 guy. They still have plenty of roster spots they'll need to fill, which they can do on a budget a max comp picks, as well as trading off the over 30 guys like Hicks and replenish the roster in 2021. 2022 they have cap space, lots more picks and perhaps a better idea on their QB outlook.

    That was the plan with Foles, though, they may need also need a plan C. They can't (or shouldn't) spend a lot on it, but bring in another body for minimum type and a rookie. Tend to agree on Robinson. Collect the likely round 3 comp pick. They will need to add a vet or two though, for cheaper than ARob, but work on developing Mooney as WR1.

    There's no good reason for this team to seriously try and compete next year. And there's a great argument to be made for selling off certain pieces, collecting some comp picks, etc. And hope to compete for the division again starting in 2022. For that reason alone I think I'm done with Pace and Nagy. But I have a feeling they'll use their limited resources to try and patch together a contending team again. :?

    Definitely trolling, after what he’s said about Pace not even taking to him before the draft I doubt he’d try to force a trade here specifically. I’m sure he’d play here if the bears did trade for him though He apparently has a NTC too

    Your guy? Who is that? Also because we're the Bears; watch GB trade for Watson Watson was the pick I wanted most in 2017 (though I kind of warmed to the idea of Trubisky eventually I still preferred Watson)

    and on the Bears side, they would suddenly have a QB and surrounding talent to possibly dethrone GB ok I'm done daydreaming. call already Ryan Bears give up the 3 1st and 3 2nds and Houston gives back 3 3rds and also hires one of the Bears minority coaches as HC so we get comp picks (make sure this isn't put in writing!)

    Perhaps Watson has reason to believe all those cuts are coming hence the trade demand. I wonder what they can get back for Tunsil at this point too?

    Yep, so Hou starting at Hershell Walker territory, which would make sense from their standpoint. I guess Watson has a no trade clause? That gives him some additional leverage. But he ultimately doesn't have a ton else. Will be interesting to see if it progresses at all.

    Two firsts (one was 18 at the time), a 3rd, and Orton for Jay and a 5th. Based on talent level alone, Watson should demand more. With the contract and it being a trade demand, that could complicate the return, but I'm not sure to what extent it will. i'd probably start somewhere around that then. My initial insitnct was 2 1st and 2 3rds. 4-5 1sts is like Hershell Walker territory (3 1sts and 3 2nds, among some players and other picks). I think if it's more than a net 3 pick loss it has to include picks the other way. So if it rally took 4 1sts, maybe Houston is sending back 2 2nds as well... Something along those lines.

    Apparently Rappaport threw out 4-5 firsts? I'm sure it could be less than that if it was a team with a top 5 pick now. Sitting at 20 likes the Bears probably ups the rest quite a bit.

    This plus aren't the Saints somewhat limited by Brees? Not in the same manner of the Bears of course, nevertheless, I thought there's throws, etc. Brees has trouble with? Maybe but isn't their offense more of a intermediate catch in space/YAC style? I could be way off. So when you look at the explosive play rate, while GB and NO are similar overall, they're somewhat different in rush/pass. https://www.sharpfootballstats.com/explosive-play-rankings--off-.html NO is 13/19/15 run/pass/overall. GB is 20/4/10 So yea, Kamara has potential to burn you, but Brees definitely isn't as likely to burn you as Rogers was. So I think that lends itself that you can be a little more agressive. I haven't given it tons of thought though. But I don't think it's dramatically different of a game plan.. Don't put the weight too much on Mitch, but they can probably withstand a short drive or two. Though if Smith is out perhaps the D can't. Hope we see like 80% nickel this game and probably better if it's more Woods than Trevathan if they drop a ILB for nickel/dime.

    I definitely think they can be more agressive against the Saints, on both sides of the ball. They don't have to worry as much about Brees torching them as Rodgers. The GB game plan was basically like the game plan of a midmajor upsetting in the tourney. Slow the game down enough that there's less overall possessions so you open up the roll that luck/variance plays. If you limit mistakes and capitalize on one or two bounces, you pull off the upset. So, yea, probably similar game plan, but with a little more margin for error where you could take more shots and actually try to stress their D and O a little bit and create opportunities rather than just hope opportunities appear.

    It was probably the right game plan. But helps underscore his limitations and that the prior 3 game run was a mirage. I'm back down to maxing his guaranteed money on a new deal to like 10M tops (and I still feel awfully generous).

    I'm not worried about that. Why would he take that job to be Pace's underling when there's several open gigs and he could be the unquestioned leader of a football ops? At the same time, if they did promote Pace and hire Borgonzi as a GM, the fact that he took that job would tell me he's comfortable with the level of control he'd have over the roster and other decisions going forward, so go for it. I suppose so. I'll also add I don't necessarily get the Borgonzi love other than, "hey grab the number 2 from the hottest team currently". Maybe it's just Nagy over correction, but I just don't love a guy who's only relevant experience basically is working with/under Reid. Give me the Dodd guy from IND over him.

    Pre-existing relationship better not be part of the criteria if they make a change at GM. While I agree, Borgonzi appears to be one of, if not the best GM candidate so I'm in. I'm more worried about rumors that they'd promote Pace and bring in Borgonzi as GM. I'm not worried about that.
