  1. Though it would never happen, I've been thinking Barrett would be a good option as our backup C. We already have the defense at the position in Geo. Barrett could both serve the purpose of a big pinch hitter and primary backup C. Plus he probably can play a few other positions, given his history. Of course, we'd need to have a guy capable of playing emergency C for when we wanted to use MB's bat as a PH. Again, I know it'll never happen. BTW, am I remembering right that the Padres re-upped Barrett (or gave him arbitration) ala Todd Walker before?
  2. Is this a hint pc39? Has Sean had a physical in Baltimore yet? I am going to be disappointed if he is traded. We can assume you mean Sean Gallagher, right? peoriachiefs39 is Sean's dad (I think).
  3. Ya. Juan Gone /= Gonzo
  4. That's almost a month old and was what really sent this thread into overdrive.
  5. I think this deal is pretty much inevitable, but maybe I'm wrong. SS is obviously more of a need, but that's not how Hendry sees it.
  6. I like how they tied it together with that one as a bundle...
  7. It's a fact that you have to look at who drives in runs in the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings?
  8. Baker was caught smoking crack and the cubs were disqualified. That would explain why he kept Prior in game 2 for so long.
  9. Just great. It's too bad we can't pit that 72 team against the Dolphins of today and watch them get killed.
  10. Or against Carolina in his second for that matter. No one remembers how Brady threw a key INT when his team was about to clinch the game, which the Panthers quickly turned into a lead. /biased Panthers fan Brady also should have blown the game against the Chargers last year. Nobody is saying he's perfect, though.
  11. Grossman actually made the Bears offense look more than competent for a while in 2006 with the loads of talent he had around him.
  12. It is sort of funny Re:Tiki Barber too. Bradshaw just said that the last drive Eli had was the things that legends are built around and that he was incredible. Truffle already summarized that last drive pretty well.
  13. It's pretty absurd looking at that chain of events. The Cubs were five outs away from the series and had a young power staff poised to be the best in baseball for years thereafter. AND they put together the best Cubs lineup in decades the following season. And they STILL managed to screw it up.
  14. They do have the #7 pick..
  15. I feel the same way about the 06 Bears.. and at least the Bears were the best team in the NFC.
  16. derwood? go to bed, you sound tired. seriously, he's not Joe Morgan or anything. Troy Aikmen is way worse. I'm not saying he's the greatest ever, but your guys hate for him is pretty ridiculous I'm not gonna lie. I pretty much agree. My hate for Tim McCarver was way worse in the 2003 playoffs. Nobody will ever touch Stockton in the 07 playoffs... Buck is pretty low in my book on the list of announcers/commentators I dislike.
  17. That pass play will go down as one of the top Super Bowl moments in history. I can see it being replayed as much as the Titans coming up short against the Rams.
  18. Eh, I don't like the guy, but he did jog out and do the whole handshake/hug deal with Coughlin. He just didn't come back for the one second.
  19. I do think it's sort of funny for a 18-0 team to lose in the final game, FWIW. Can't say I'd have rooted for it though... :|
  20. Well, at least you guys are getting to see the Pats go down in spectacular fashion.
  21. I still don't understand why people would root so much against a perfect record, but to each his own....
  22. Luckily I'm not bothered much about this since I lost my bet a while ago... This is unbelievable...
  23. LOL this would be RI-diculous if they won the Super Bowl after that miracle play...
