    You responded like this when I suggested that Lee might be better in LF than Bonds at this point. Are you really that bad at detecting sarcatic/tongue-in-cheek comments? Honestly, what's the point of that smart-ass reply? I could see it if someone was seriously suggesting something ridiculous like that, but it's clearly a joke.

    Yea, it's a negative, no doubt. If they want to be in an uproar about how Soriano already has nagging injuries in the second year of an insane 8 year contract, that's fine by me and makes a lot more sense. The steals thing, though (and not having that speed at the top of the order)? Just doesn't bother me all that much.

    Apparently, on top of (obviously) getting an offer he feels is financially fair, Berrian wants to hear if the Bears have retained Rex or not before he feels completely comfortable in deciding whether or not to stay. EDIT - Forgot the link.     This Soriano leg thing is being made into a bigger issue than it is. As long as he doesn't reinjure it, all this really means is that he won't be green lighted to steal a bunch of bases. Big friggin deal. The sports talk guys out here are making it out like it's this huge cloud that might be hanging over the Cubs. As long as there isn't a big risk of him hurting himself further, I'm not really concerned.

    Too bad the Cubs are only 3 deep in the rotation. After that, I wouldn't call a bunch of crap "depth." Luckily, most teams have a bunch of crap at the bottom of their rotations, too. Oh, and to answer your question in a manner relevant to this year, I'd certainly take Gallagher in our rotation over Dempster and Lieber. Maybe not Marquis.

    FWIW, I've been trying to draft younger guys. I know I'm going to have to make exceptions at times, but yea. Seeing how the draft is going, I might be able to get some of the other younger guys I want later on. This is my first fantasy draft in about 10 years, so if I screw it up, oh well.

    I'd rather Dempster get hurt. At least you'll get a decent first half out of Marquis. Hopefully, Dempster will get pounded so hard in ST that he won't even have to get hurt. That would be the best for all parties.

    That's not that incredibly unlikely. It also wouldn't mean that he (Fuld) should get the job if that's the case. I couldn't care less if Fuld has a .900 OPS in spring and Pie has a .700 OPS.

    I got through... could've gotten 4 to that game. Then it crapped out on the image verification. Then it reloaded and I could only get singles. Then high transaction volume kept me from even getting that. Only singles for bleachers? Seriously?

    Anyone else getting shafted by high transaction volume? I've gotten through a few times only to not be able to order anything. Did get opening day, though. And my buddy got us Cubs/Sox.

    why would Fukodome feel obligated to do any of those things? does Derek Jeter drop a lot of sac bunts for the Yankees? A Japanese analyst the other day said that if he's hitting second, Fukudome might feel obligated to do things like that because in Japan, all #2 hitters are expected to do that stuff. As for whether Fukudome, himself, would actually feel like that... I doubt it, but who knows?

    Actually, I'd be completely in favor of letting the mediocre Dempster get the last 3 outs (assuming he's not as sucky as he was in 07 and is more along the lines of 05-06) and letting our good relievers handle the actual important spots in the game. But that's just me. Closers are overrated (and stuff).
