    How much hope is there for him to work those things out now that he's got a year of being a full-time baseball player under his belt?

    Yea, I still don't understand why he was so underwhelming in the minors and had such a low strikeout rate considering how good his stuff is supposed to be.

    I remember Nate Cornejo but given the depth the Cubs have at lousy pitchers, might be time to upgrade. Alphonso Soriano if he was moved to the middle of the lineup could achieve that batistaesque season. Finally, Adam Dunn. baseball is officially fun again. Nah. Soriano's OBP/SLG/OPS are nowhere near low enough to be Batista-esque.

    why do you assume arod and pujols are dirty, but manny plays clean? Because he wears a big baggy uniform and braids? He's too lazy and "out there" to do steroids.

    Yeah, he's gotta end up getting somewhere around $20M per year. There is NO WAY CC is going to get $20 mill, unless it's the Yanks. And IDK if the new Yanks are going to break the bank on a lefty who isn't even in Johan Santana's class. If Johan can't break the $20 mill barrier, then I doubt CC (who has YET to win a Cy Young) gets more then say $15-17 mill per. Santana is getting over 20 mil per year. Ok.....maybe my math was off. But my reasoning is not...CC AIN'T a $20 mill per yr pitcher...but then again, I thought Torii Hunter wasn't an $18 mill per OF, and the Angels "got dumb" when they signed him. Zambrano is averaging about $18.5M over his extension, and he wasn't on the open market. Still think CC won't get around $20M?

    A little more from Belkast for anyone who wants the info... He's not saying much specifically, but there's a little more info to fuel speculation. When asked if the players were the same ones we've been hearing... When asked if they'd be getting players that would be on their 40 man... Again, no specifics. Some will say that's because he's making it up. Others will say it's because he doesn't want to/can't offer up more than that for public consumption. Your prerogative.

    When asked if he thinks PA will sign off on it: Enjoy 8-) Has BigBird verified this info? I know you're joking, but it was actually bigbird who asked if he thought PA would sign off on it. He's been pretty pessimistic about Angelos actually approving a Roberts trade.

    I dont thinks its talent we have issues with @ QB. its using them, and developing them. I still think Rex can be pretty good as long as he has protection and a run game so he can have time to throw and use the play action. He's a pocket passer with not much of a pocket (even in 2006, truth be told, the protection wasn't all that great). But I'm a pretty big Grossman homer.

    I'm guessing there wasn't much, if anything, taken of the Cubs yesterday. If there are some today, there wouldn't be any new ones until probably later in the day, since they're in AZ. All those other teams train in Florida.
