    I'm not saying Soriano shouldn't be criticized when he does dumb stuff, but Bob sure likes to overstate the dumb stuff. Fans will pick up and run with those comments. On the other hand, you won't hear him laying into Theriot for all the dumb stuff he does sometimes.

    Bob's a dick. He's all about that old school nonsense. I wouldn't call him a dick, but he does lay into Cubs players a little too much at times. Especially players that have such a huge impact on how well we play...

    Yes, because of the nature of the game, W-L will often wind up doing a decent job of being representative of how well a pitcher has done. It will also often do a bad job of painting the picture. You're never going to be in this theoretical situation where you can only look at the W-L record. Why even bother with such a flawed and inherently inferior stat?

    128 ABs or 170 something, you're still talking a small sample size.

    pass. He's Gary Gaetti 2008 Disagree, I don't recall Gaetti playing this well in '98. While I think it's foolish to get too caught up in what Edmonds is doing...it's not completely out of the question to think about bringing him back. Gaetti put up a 154 OPS+ with the Cubs that year... .320 .397 .594

    At some point I'm going to have to convince myself that Edmonds really did figure out how to be good again and that this isn't a fluke.... Everytime I see him in the 5 spot, I cringe...until the game is on and he crushes another ball... wtf

    Dead air wouldn't be a terrible replacement for Santo.... but Otto does sorta suck. Talks way too much.
